Romney's betting on voters wanting to pick "Door Number 2" on "LET'S MAKE A DEAL."
We know what's behind Door #1 -- that's Obama, with all of his accomplishments and a slowly, but steadily, improving economy. We know what's behind Door #3 -- Gary Johnson and his unabashed Libertarianism.
But Romney hopes that voters are in a betting mood, and we'll decide to pick the mystery door -- Door #2 -- in the hopes that we'll find a fancy new car, a fancy new job, and an all-expenses-paid, tax-free vacation trip to the Cayman Islands.
But what's really hiding back there? The end of Medicare. The eventual end of Social Security. The end of Federal medicaid. The end of unions. Plus the end of safe, legal, abortion; women's equality; LGBT equality.
All the Libertarian financial goals tied together with right wing religious cultural goals.
Are we crazy enough to pick door #2 in the vain hope that we'll win the big prize? We'll know in a few weeks.
