The republican debate .....

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Agschmid (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

I think Democrats should watch the republican debates -- such as tonight's on CNN -- in order to fully understand the nature of our opposition. While I do not subscribe to the tired and worn-out "the lesser of two evils" nonsense, what the republicans are chattering about is important. Yet if we lose the general election, we are in for an updated "dark age."

Thus, it should play a role in how we view the contest between Bernie and Hillary.

Are you watching the republican debate? If so, what do you think of it?

Thanks,
H2O Man

Rubio is doing better, maybe enough to win Florida, but probably not.

You are technically correct in your actions.

Yet, your motivations are disappointing.

And that you openly posted them, even more disappointing.

So far, low tones from everyone up there.

AND, And informational debate instead of juvenile name-calling and fighting.

I have always said that and that feeling grows each time I watch these guys.

I also am concerned with how the repubs are flocking to the polls and possible turn out issues for us.

I have wanted to comment but too goofy to start a thread.

Trump just said something I find remarkable. I think the reason he is in this race is that it is a challenge for him. He wants to do that one big deal, whether it's changes in trade or a Palestinian Israeli peace agreement. But what I find remarkable is that none of it has anything to do with real people. A few of his "tough" Jewish friends in New York might have him believe things are a certain way.

But what scares me the most is that I agree with his concepts on several things. But only the concepts, and not the person utilizing them. Can't put it into words at the moment.
