We have a corrupt campaign finance system.

I think Hillary will win NC.

20% AA
10% Hispanic NA & other
Also Unaffiliated is the largest voter identification now.
Bernie chose to appear in the state capital, not so much the banking capital. Good move!

(51,308 posts)However, Charlotte is a huge voting block, and the demographics are very different.
Raleigh is a smallish city in NC.
marions ghost
(19,841 posts)This sums it up:
Charlotte is one city; Raleigh is one of anywhere between three and a dozen, depending on whos counting. Both regions have the same two-million-or-so people, but Charlotte gets to focus on a single downtown, which means one stadium and one arena and one each of venues of various descriptions and a transit system that makes sense.
Raleigh has to play nicely with Durham and Chapel Hill and Cary and the Research Triangle Park and Carrboro and dont even get me started. Charlotte is like an only child, the apple of its corporate helicopter parents eye: It has everything it needs, and often a little bit more, and if it has a fault it may be that when other children get recognition it can occasionally get a little snippy.

(2,978 posts)"interesting," indeed. The Triangle is the nexus of a lot of international outsourcing issues, student loan debt, juxtaposition of wealth and extreme poverty, and more centrally located for service people to attend.
cwydro
(51,308 posts)Charlotte is far more diverse.

(51,308 posts)I live in NC, in Charlotte, when I'm not out in the country.
So it is not MY definition of diversity. It is in the US census stats.
Sorry that bothers you.
I've noticed Bernie supporters have difficulty grasping facts.
That's a shame. Both are great candidates, imo.
marions ghost
(19,841 posts)which includes Raleigh.
Why do you want to be deliberately misleading about this and only use stats about Raleigh when you know that the Triangle = Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Cary, Hillsborough and other small towns --are essentially one metro area?
What's the agenda with this?

(3,017 posts)He says it in every stump speech. Not sure how that fits with the sexist Bernie supporters narrative the Hillary shills are trying to advance.

We have a small window to prevent a bad situation by the end of the century-- planet will be 5-10 degrees warmer. Listing all the consequences. We have GOT to get our act together.

We can put 13 million people back to work and we pay for that by ending Corporate welfare
and tax havens in the Caymans, not paying a nickle of taxes.
My ideas are too radical!!!
Clean drinking water -- a radical idea.
Imagine making corporations ACTUALLY pay taxes--a radical idea.
Health Care--every major country on earth provides health care for their people except us.
ACA has done some good things and I thank Pres O for his leadership --has ended this obscenity called "pre-existing conditions", ensured 17 million to insurance, and ended higher premiums for women. Despite the gains of the ACA 29 million have no health insurance and more are under-insured. Drug company charges the highest prices in the world. ONE in FIVE people in AMerican cannot afford to fill the prescriptions their doctors write.
