Media Bias and Public Perception

March 13, 2016 (San Diego) Right Wing voters complaint that the media is liberal. Left wing voters say that the media is biased. Both are correct. Though they are correct for different reasons. At one point the United States had a more balanced media establishment, that was owned by far more owners than at this moment.

To understand some of this, it is best to understand the role of the media in the United States. Theoretically it is the fourth estate, there to check on politicians, and educate readers on policies and issues. This was the role after the end of World War Two, and by law, media outlets remained in as many hands as possible. This led to a media establishment that also had international bureaus and interest in issues well beyond our borders.

There have been several forces that have converged to destroy this system. Instead, what has emerged is a media system with massive consolidation into few corporations and a definite corporate bent. The 4 companies that own most of the TV stations, as of 2015 are CBS, Comcast, Public Broadcasting and Disney.

Assuming that Clinton becomes the nominee, media will turn it;s guns on her... and by the way, after putting this piece together, I love the smell of fascism in the morning, Media wants Trump... and I also love propaganda inside CONUS. It is far worst than anybody thinks.

Have much to answer for for that. They could have opposed media deregulation in the mid 90s... giving Clinton support for a veto. Neither of them did and here we are.

seriously, after putting this together they prefer any R, period, and Trump is not that scary. Not when they can lie on your TV and they transmit propaganda into CONUS, or corporate pieces passing as news.

But, at least their all in for Clinton has REALLY helped expose their propaganda machine. And the political endorsements have REALLY helped pull back the curtain.

11. A lot more are every day. They only reason they will turn on Clinton is IF they feel that

continuing to prop her up provides more risk than benefit.

There is so much manipulation that sometimes its hard to pin down the game BUT one thing I'm sure of - the Corporate Media supports Clinton.

13. One of the games they play. The Doofos Duo on Morning Joe will say some negative stuff about Clinton

so that the Clinton Machine can say to their supporters - look the media is out to get Hillary. But the rest of the day it's non stop prop up Corporate Clinton.

There are so many games they play that it would take more time than I want to spend to list them.

Ok, bernie is the easiest candidate to vet like EVER... it is all on CSPAN and public access TV. The rest, not so much. And trust me, I have tried... reading the Trump website is well... painful, Cruz is scary...

Corporate media has been working on this for years. Once Frank Luntz was put on CBS's payroll,you knew the fix was in. Like you say,the Media will turn on Clinton big time. They have done their research and have been doing trial balloons by testing actions and reaction phrases since the Trump blaming Bernie or ISIS or what ever the new villain is. Watch for some real garbage Tuesday evening.

I think that the repugs as well as the media may try
during the convention to pull out Kasich, who will serve
them very well against the Dems.

Few people are aware how terribly conservative he
really is. The question is can they pull it off against
Trump?

needed word smith positions. Anyone with a Communications Degree with emphasis in Public Policy will find employment at their Ring Wing Media outlet. Freud's Grandson was the true author of hate speech and through the decades others have used the Stage of time to embellish the art form. Remember Roy Cohen with Joe McCarthy and Richard Nixon with the so called Commie Scare of the 50's,then came Nixon with Lee Attwater with the help of Jerry Fallwell and his gang of fundies,Roger Ailes and Carl Rove with the Bush Family. And at present we have Trump and the full blown backing of 90%of the media sounding his hate filled divisive messages,all to help the Oligarchs turn our country into a Fascist State.
