Colorado voters give Obama a 48/44 victory in the debate- more importantly 58/36 among independents. Sample is R+3

(340 posts)but I wish the numbers were a bit higher..Obama needed them a big higher to make up for debate one.

(320 posts)I bet that 44% for Romney is full of older white voters who are so entrenched in their ways that they can't recognize an intellectual evisceration if it smacked them across the face.
Take solace in the number among independents.

(111 posts)A 4 point gap is not bad. Obama doesn't even need Colorado. If he's up 4 in Colarado, he's probably up more in NV and definitely up more in OH. 58-36 among independents reverses a huge trend.

(15,185 posts)but in CO, Independents determine the elections. It's a state in flux politically and demographically (lots of transplants from CA and all over the nation as well as a Latino influx). Dems have made a lot of headway, having captured both Senate seats, the governorship, and of course Obama's 9% win last time. This time will be closer, but considering Dems won the Senate seat in '10, which was absolutely brutal for Dems nationwide, this is a state I would hate to see Obama lose...
