Why are some Democrats fed up with the system voting Trump instead of Bernie

Was watching MSNBC and this woman came from a long line of Italian American Democrats. She was at a polling station and said she was voting Trump because he was self funded and was fed up with the system. Said her father would be rolling over in his grave. Why aren't these folks voting for Sanders? Are these Reagan Democrats? I've been hearing a bit of this and there's a county in Ohio that's heavily Democrat that so many are voting Republican. I'm sure some of that is to throw off Trump but I think some of it are people truly switching parties. If you are fed up with business as usual, Sanders is your guy. Why in the hell would you vote for Donald Trump and his demagoguery?

I am not surprised to see some confirmation, as anecdotal as this is

1) They're stupid.

2) It's the MSM reporting. Take it for what it's worth.

These "Democrats" that stroll up to the camera to say they're going to vote for Trump - I am suspicious of that.

and that's a piss-poor reason, especially since it sends a message at the expense of the entire country. I will vote for whichever Democrat wins the nomination. Period. Even if I have to hold my nose and vote for Hillary. I truly hope it doesn't come down to such an unpleasant choice, but I will do my duty when called upon.

First off, he's not self-funded. He's raised money and spent very little. I don't know if he has made any ads (no TV, live in a low population state that won't have our primary until June so I wouldn't see them if they were out there) and he has no need for making ads since all of the networks give him all of the hours of coverage he could possibly want.

That woman probably hasn't listened very carefully to how awful he is towards women and every minority group he can name. She probably doesn't know he's had four bankruptcies so far and quite a few of his enterprises have crashed and burned. Maybe she watches a lot of reality shows and doesn't have a clue how scripted they really are, and since Trump is simply starring in his latest reality show "Trump, the Campaign" she thinks he's doing it the way everyone should run for office.

I understand why so many people are fed up with the system and want change. But to think that Trump equals Sanders demonstrates a frightening lack of understanding of everything about the race and the two men.

Those who don't like the fact that an AA is president, who think that minorities have gotten too uppity, that immigrants are overrunning the "real America," who think that Government bureaucrats are the reason they lost their jobs...who bemoan the loss of Christian values.....

Those folks are prime suckers for the Trump bait.

Those who are motivated by a better world for everyone tend to gravitate to Bernie.

There are people in Ohio who NEVER voted Republican (so no they are not Reagan Democrats) who are voting for Trump because they are disgusted with the Clinton Coporatist Wing of the Democratic Party.

I've spoke to someone yesterday. They talked to several LIFELONG Ohio Democrats who voted Trump (early voting) b/c while they don't agree with everything that he does they feel that he will fight the crooks in Washington who have sold out this country. They detest Clinton and will NEVER vote for her. Would they vote for Bernie in the general election? I believe they would because of his long history of fighting for the working class.

I'm on the far left end of things (and not a Democrat anyway), but not all of the Democratic party is progressive. Some are center-left...some are even conservatives who can't accept the far-right Republican version of conservatism. That bloc will contain people who's primary focus is getting rid of the status quo, but who aren't ready to support someone as far left as Bernie (and don't trust Hillary).

I don't agree with these voters...but I understand.

and Trump channels white rage more effectively.

The "system" is the one that lets a black man become president and women have a shot at it. That those individuals have risen to that political status signals the decline of their status. That is THE issue.

Why is this surprising? Trump isn't exactly subtle in what he articulates.

Many people without Internet access are going to the polls without even knowing Bernie Sanders is running or what he stands for.

For many people who don't like or trust Hillary, Trump is the only option they know about.

I really hate the media.
