Yet another plea - don't burn the boats

I will cast my vote for Bernie in a month and have had that vote in his pocket for 9 months now.

But, we sit here today where I thought we would be back then.

Hillary is who she is ...

1) A warmed over politician
2) A moderate democrat generally
3) Comfy with big money
4) Somewhat hawkish

Big schism between her and Bernie policy wise.

But, while people can project how awesome Bernie would be in the general and how bad she will be, the simple reality is that in order to be on the ballot in the general you gotta win the primary.

And, like it or not, Hillary was too strong of a candidate for Bernie to beat in a democratic primary this go around.

End, of the day, its going to be Hillary v whoever the Rs put on the ballot.

And, as big as the schism separating Bernie and Hillary is, the schism separating Hillary and whoever that is will be much bigger.

Don't burn the boats, let the dust settle and make a sober decision when the time comes.

So your position could do with a bit of nuance.

stronger Wall Street laws, expansion of ACA, more infrastructure spending, protecting union rights?

Uhh, no. Kasich wants tax cuts for the wealthy and slashing SS and Medicare and all the rest of the GOP policies.

Maybe 24 years in congress makes you a warmed over politician

Not on the majority of issues that matter most to me (by a lot), it won't be. Hillary is a center-right, Republican Lite disaster on economic politics.

Nothing else matters. Really. The Club for Growth started - too late - to air anti Trump ads after Scalia departed. If you lose Congress, you can come back in two year; if you lose a president - come back in four month. The Supreme Court is for generations.

This where the mindless, yet fervent, loyalty to the party that the Rs have beats the herding cat dynamic of democrats.

They see the long game and big picture.

They have only slept on two elections, 06 and 08, in the last 25 years, and because of that have the majority of state houses and governors, and the majority in the SC until Scalia slept in.

I am voting Bernie for two primary reasons.

1) He is by far the most right on the issues
2) He speaks to progressive positions unabashedly, something that so few democrats do today

I would love to see a Bernie POTUS, but I know the people of this country all too well.

I said he was a really big long shot to win the nomination at the same time I was telling people Trump was no joke, and I have said he had their nomination in a sleeper hold starting last August.

Knowing how it is going to play out and accepting that doesn't change what I would like to see.

backed by an incredibly corrupt system. And Bernie is being systematically shut out by the media, the DNC and the DLC.

"Somewhat of a warhawk" has never seen a military action she didn't vote for, and many that she pushed hard for.

"Comfy with big money" well, so are high end hookers.

"Don't burn the boats" not sure who you're addressing but I can assure you that nobody on this board has changed my mind on anything.

We don't know what the "end of the day" will bring. Anything can happen between now and November. But the last time I looked, only one candidate is at the center of an FBI investigation.

not afternoon tea.

She was too strong of a candidate in part for the reasons you note - much more institutional support, but mostly because she simply had too much name.

Not saying she was more right on the issues, she isn't.

But, sadly, elections a lot more about things other than the issues - a reality I resigned myself with long before the start of this primary.

Or do you think ACTUAL Sanders supporters are really that gullible?
