My gf is from the Philippines and consequently many of our friends are, some of whom are gay. Manny is a source of pride to Filipinos, the nation comes to a standstill when he fights. That makes his comments doubly hurtful to them.

He wasn't always like that...He "found God" after a couple of big losses. The Fundies got a hold of him. He also makes God look bad.
