Here's my plan: If it's an anti thread posted by Clinton supporters, and it's OBVIOUS what it is? LET IT SINK.
Don't give them the satisfaction. Let the echo-chamber they want begin right here... with THIS post. You know who the posters are. You know what you'll read when you open their posts.
Let. Them. Sink. Open them and read if only just for the laugh. Then let them sink.
And for each post of theirs that sinks like a stone, contribute $27 if you can, and $1 if that's all ya got.

(24,853 posts)I like to read their posts for their entertainment value, but I don't respond most times.
I'll tell you what though... after the "changes" that Skinner made the other day, I'm done contributing to DU. I used to think "democracy" was what was important at a place called "Democratic Underground", but was slapped in the face by "It's my ball so we'll play by MY rules." It IS Skinner's site after all, and knowing his support for one candidate over another is so strong he'd change the rules to support it makes me rethink my welcome here.
Done monetarily and probably done after the primaries. I'm writing my flame-out post little by little.

(38,613 posts)And I suspect that criticism of a president Clinton will not be as tolerated as criticism of Obama. I stopped donating too, especially once I heard about the connections to the Clinton campaign.
The sudden appearance of the Hillary Logo Font was the first red flag.

(1,054 posts)What are the connections to the Clinton campaign?
I suspect i better just close my account here. I perhaps made a mistake donating. I didn't know it was partisan site.

(24,853 posts)Problem for Skinner was he's an unabashed Hillary Clinton supporter and most of his paying customers aren't. They were getting their stupid shit hidden right and left and sent to the corner to cool their heels until their 90 day old hides fell off the board and they had four or less.
Skinner owns the site and I guess he got tired of being in the minority when it came to primary candidates so he gave his fellow Hillary Clinton supporters amnesty if they had 5 hides and let them come back to post. One of the worst ones had SEVEN hides in less than three weeks. She's driving a supercharged V-8 manure spreader all over the site as I type this.
Zira
(1,054 posts)Very sad to hear the site owner is for Hillary. I should have found out more before I donated.

(14,195 posts)They are baiting Bernie folk, Alert swarming and trying to get bans. I personally think that was the whole reason for the change.

(1,054 posts)I just found one on this thread calling Bernie "BS." Immediate ignore on that type.
I am learning.

(6,007 posts)Someone mentioned it the other day. It is a much nicer place now. I got so tired of the same people over and over, just putting up annoying "bait" posts, just to piss Bernie supporters off. They don't seem to have anything concrete or positive to offer, just smears, innuendo and condescension. Let them stew in their own nastiness.

(8,090 posts)and take that information/knowledge outside of the DU bubble. DUers cut through bullshit tremendously well (Corporate Media, Third Way, Spandan, smarty, Milt, et al.) and it's a joy to watch that garbage get chewed up and spit out.
Plus, I derive waaaay too much pleasure from the resident loudmouth(s) getting shot down.

(6,007 posts)Maybe we should start a list. Whenever they actually state a fact, put it on the list so we can go look at them. All I've ever seen is condescension and smugness.

(10,601 posts)Shocker, I know, but it seems that far too many Sanders fans around here like to brag about their Ignore lists, their forum-trashing, and then stuff like this.
If you can't even handle a fellow Democrat and her supporters, y'all would be no match for Trump and his, I'm afraid.

(45,319 posts)"Recognizing Trump as a key symbol of the privatization of New York that contributed to the rapid increase in economic inequality in the 1980s, ACT UP continued to target him. The Housing Committee returned to Trump Tower on February 11, 1989, for the Soup Kitchen Rally, in which a coalition of city groups protested the citys failure to address homelessness, and again on Halloween 1989, when ACT UP members passed out candy, condoms, and information about AIDS and homelessness."

This was LGBT, primarily people of color, who were a match for Trump 28 years ago. Where were you? Hillary recently told us that it was Ron and Nancy doing all the hard work of 'opening conversations' and being strong advocates but in reality LGBT under extreme community duress were already choosing off and calling our the man who is now the big surprise candidate casting fear into Hillary supporters.
If Hillary type Democrats had stood with the LGBT and PoC of ACT Up decades ago, today Trump would not have the power he has. The DNC did not stand with those activists, they did not join in the condemnation of Trump. Not then and not for 30 years following.

(14,255 posts)There is no point in arguing. Can you imagine an argument that would make Hillary seem a better choice than Bernie? On issues OR baggage OR record OR deeds? There is none. So they can blather to themselves. At this point, no one will be convincing anyone to switch support. Not for logical reasons, anyway.
