2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhy Did Bill Clinton Pardon Mark Rich Hillary?
Like CNN, or MSNBC, or anyone else would ever ask her a real tough question.
Could it have been the 1 million dollar contribution his wife made to the foundation?
They are too busy polishing her image and pretending Sanders doesn't poll 10 points higher against Republicans......
I have a close friend that will not vote for Hillary simply because Bill pardoned Mark Rich.
The press forgot, but the Republicans will pound her with this.
Just wait.

BTW I am not a Republican plant.
I just want a president called Sanders, not Trump.
If the Clinton Camp can't handle people pointing out true stuff, calling it "conspiracy" or some other crap, what does that tell us about the candidate?
Seriously...that is funny.

(36,418 posts)You call that a favor? Weiss calls it a case of blackmail (euphemism might be forceful inducement) as a price by Israel to sign the Camp David Accords. More like diplomacy as realpolitik, maybe by Clausewitz's definition. That pisses some people off.

(114,658 posts)Of course, the Republicans would deflect from those facts by spreading the idea that Clinton was involved with Denise Rich. See - the idea of it being a sexual situation would provide PLENTY of smokescreen for Poppy Bush and the real reason.

Bill Clinton is not running for President, and cannot. Focusing actual reality is a good thing, I think.

(3,660 posts)I got a hide just yesterday for "speaking ill of a Democratic president".
Just in case, I checked the Terms of Service, and have been blasting it to the ones commenting in threads that we shouldn't say negative stuff about democrats.
The Terms of Service clearly state "But that does not mean that DU members are required to always be completely supportive of Democrats. During the ups-and-downs of politics and policy-making, it is perfectly normal to have mixed feelings about the Democratic officials we worked hard to help elect."

(1,400 posts)I supported Bill every second of his administration.
I was one of the first Move On members.
Then on his last day he did that.
Sick.
I won't forget, and neither will my friend.

(114,658 posts)It was a favor to GHWBush. Marc Rich was a figure in IranContra.

People need to wake up and realize how GOP operates - it is always to protect BushInc. And no one was better at putting Clinton into a corner than Poppy Bush. That's the price Bill was paying for going along with Bush in order to get into the WH.
