Related: About this forumBernie Sanders Is Currently Winning the Democratic Primary Race, and I’ll Prove It to You
Nobody cares how well a politician does at the ballot box when he or she is running for an office unopposed. What matters is how a politician performs in contested primaries and general elections, as when it really matters like it will, for instance, this November you can be certain of a contested election.
With that said, lets make an important observation: Bernie Sanders has tied or beaten Hillary Clinton in a majority of the actively contested votes this election season.
You doubt it? Okay, let me explain.

(3,194 posts)We're all going to need things to help us cope IF Hillary loses to Donald in November.
Oh wait....that can't possibly happen, because Hillary is the "chosen one," and most Americans love her so much, surely she will defeat the Donald.

(10,622 posts)Independents alone outnumber either party at about 40% of voters and you can't win an election without them (they favor Sanders by 80% and when polled consider her dishonest by actually record numbers and have her favorable ratings 15% under water)
If the party cared about winning the GE (which at this point appears they do not much care about either way) they would take the establishment thumb off the scale and run a fair primary and just risk the fallout of the Clintons' infamous "hit list" book of favors and retribution which they are apparently so afraid of that they would commit political Supuku in the GE rather than face.

(9,527 posts)The demographics of this campaign are clear and consistent. The author compares two unlike samples of voters and saying that the demographics don't matter only time is the important variable. But that argument isn't supported. Clinton has maintained a consistent edge among minority and older voters across states and time.
This argument of comparing two unlike populations and saying that since group b votes for Sanders so would group a of very different demographics is laughably bad. The author either doesn't understand statistics or is pretending not to.

(95 posts)Clearly biased for Bernie, this "writer" uses child like logic and tantrum to twist Hillary dominating wins into a loss. Here are the facts, she leads by over 300 delegates, far more than Obama had at this point. She leads by over 2.5 million votes, and she will win the majority of super delegates, especially if shes up by giant margins after NY and CA.
Bernie people are really becoming delusional about the race.

(5,733 posts)Although the writing is on the wall, and has been for some time now, BSers on DU keep grasping at straws and comb the Internet for any beacon of hope they can post to prove how loyal they are.
OK BSers, time to send in another $27 and look for more Hillary hate to post here.

(13,598 posts)Like a lot of other similar claims from the Sanders camp, it's an attempt to argue that the votes of people who support Sanders count more than the votes of people who support Clinton.
Unsurprisingly, the Clinton camp continues to insist that their votes matter just as much...
