(37,428 posts)Internet anonymity and the privacy of ballots are what allow people here to say they'll never vote for someone.
Privilege is what makes people actually fail to vote against the alternative.
It may be fun to argue, but we need not believe what any poster says about a hypothetical future vote.

(14,255 posts)I don't hate Clinton, I hate her proclivity for war and fracking and the TPP, amongst many other bad things. Why would I waste a strong emotion like HATE on someone I have no wish to know?
I consider supporting her to be sort of like not caring about my family.

(3,795 posts)She says that she genuinely likes them both.
People that feel that way are very fortunate, and I'm sure that it's difficult for them to understand that many of us DON'T like HRC. And, that does NOT equal hating.
Many of us believe that HRC would be a catastrophe on foreign policy and domestic economic issues. Let me repeat that: A catastrophe.
This should come as no surprise to HRC supporters since we have been very consistent since the beginning of this primary about this fact. So, it would not be a case of sour grapes if some Bernie supporters don't vote for HRC. It would be a case of some Bernie supporters not wanting to support someone that they STRONGLY disagree with on policy.
It's a damn shame that she might win the nomination since there seems to be much fewer HRC supporters that would have had a problem voting for Bernie.
But, it is what it is.
And, some advice: Trying to GUILT Bernie supporters into voting for HRC will not work out well. I promise.

(36,649 posts)Bridging hairs-breadth differences between Sanders and Clinton is an insurmountable obstacle for the Clinton haters, but they see the enormous gulf between Democrats and Republicans, and the Clinton haters treat them as conjoined twins.
They so desperately want 21st century America to be a replay of the Paris Commune. It isn't. We're rhyming to the tune of the Wiemar Republic instead.

(2,052 posts)Sorry, so I grabbed the first one I found.
But my advanced degree in History is enough to know what I am talking about as well. So take your criticisms and shove them. I know far more of this topic than you. Sorry for the news. The Nazi Party was left on almost all issues except obviously race. If you disagree, I would love a breakdown from you on this matter.

(36,649 posts)Sorry. Not even close. The very idea is offensive & repugnant.

(14,177 posts)The arguments that FDR was a great president despite interment camps is much like what you decry in another poster. It wouldn't have taken much to allow people to shoot Japanese people in the streets with impunity. And that is how most people lost their lives in Germany, it wasn't just gas chambers. It was the government encouraging hate and murder. Our government just encouraged hate. Have a nice day.
baldguy
(36,649 posts)The fact is that the RW has been trying for years to equate the Democratic Party and liberal & progressive policies with Nazi Germany. And unbelievably, astonishingly and outrageously Sanders supporters above have picked up that idea of equivalence and run with it.
There is no equivalence between Nazi Germany and the American Democratic Party - either in the 20th century or the 21st. Attempting to do so is reprehensible, indefensible, and really beyond the pale.
We are facing a REAL FASCIST THREAT from the Republicans. Attacking Democrats and the Democratic party only helps the fascists.
Kalidurga
(14,177 posts)I am pretty sure that is somewhere in your own mind. I have no idea why you are okay with interment camps but there it is cuz it was FDR. You are okay with a whole lot of things that a few months ago you would decry, but that's cool now cuz Hillary.
You can defend fascist lite all you want. But, I will not drink that kool-aid.

Either that, or you're not paying attention. Re-read the posts and see just what you're defending. The fascists are the ones promoting RW propaganda & attacking Democrats like Clinton.

(22,666 posts)She'll get my vote IF Sanders doesn't make it. I happen to think he is the better candidate for America right now.
However, the race isn't but HALF over yet and yet so many (Wall St., Dem Establishment, Corporat-owned media, big pharma, MiC, big insurance (big corporations) - speaking of "privileged"
want to cram Clinton down America's collective throat. Because they know SHE will leave alone the status quo that keeps them in gilded opulence at everyone else's expense while Bernie will NOT.
Forcing a candidate on people by whatever greasy means possible will only turn millions of them away. This is the dangerous game you are all playing even with the specter of DONALD TRUMP being President. At what point do YOU stop?
Calling for all others to bow out of the race before it's even half over is so apparently self-serving, it hurts to think about it.
You see, it isn't Clinton anyone hates. It's the TACTICS used to elevate her while either ignoring or sandbagging the other guy before he even has a chance.
PLEASE. Just. Do. NOT. with this stuff.

(6,007 posts)pulling it right out of your, uh, . . . . . . . . . thin air?
Does it make you feel better, if you think it is blind hate? Rather than a fundamental disagreement with what she stands for.?
I see posts all over the place talking about REASONS why they disagree with her.
Rather than face any of those issues, the Hillary worshippers refuse to look at issues, and have to find some made up reasons why someone would disagree with her . . after all, it couldn't be with her issues. . otherwise they'd have to think about what she has said and done. . . and they can't handle that.
So, stop it. No one HATES Hillary. . . they just don't like all the lies, smears and swift boating. And those lies, smear and swift boats have been documented here and elsewhere.

(50,566 posts)So bloody sick of this lie that we just decided to "hate" Hillary out of the blue, for absolutely no reason (oh, except for sexism, because apparently even those of us who are women who consider ourselves feminists but support Bernie are very, very sexist.)

"I see people swear up and down their hatred of Clinton isnt because shes a woman, or doesnt stem directly from decades of vicious, lying conservative propaganda they will swear it!and then immediately turn around and eviscerate her for something Sanders did (or is) himself, or call her a crook, or say nonsense like, She doesnt have an honest bone in her body.
"Theres not a thing wrong with choosing Sanders over Clinton, or disliking Clintons current policy proposals. However, the out-and-out hatred were seeing from some Sanders supporters (and about which I am hardly the first person to write) bears some serious scrutiny.
While the Sanders campaign has made real efforts to deal with the worst of itthe Bernie Bros acting as a misogynistic mob, attacking Clinton and her supporters Gamergate-style; the Bern the Witch controversytheres still far too much active hatred, and far too much of it is misogynistic or coded misogyny. Far too much of it stems from willing belief in conservative propaganda about Clinton that has been debunked over and over.
I think we all expected it, but I did not expect it from our side."
SheenaR
(2,052 posts)My dislike comes from my feelings on her as a person. Am i sexist? I think she is a liar. I don't think she can be honest. I think she is pathological. I think this "propaganda for decades" notion is bullshit. She and her husband were involved with some extraordinarily shady dealings in the 1990's. That's not propaganda. That's real life.
I wouldn't trust her if I was paid to.
Must be my sexist leanings as a woman.

I don't "hate" Hillary, I just don't want Hillary as my President.
The "consider the alternative" thing doesn't hold water for me. I have considered the alternative. That doesn't make Hillary a candidate who is worthy of my vote. No amount of poorly written "opinion pieces" are going to change that.
