Mrs. Romney: Mitt’s mission in Paris mansion was similar to Vietnam

Mrs. Romney went on the The View yesterday, and among other things was asked why neither her husband Mitt, nor any of her five sons, had ever served in the US military.

Mrs. Romney replied that her husband and sons served Mormon missions abroad (trying to convert infidel Catholics and others to the one true God of Mormonism, btw). She went on to explain that doing a Mormon mission in a place like Paris – where Mitt lived in a mansion (with his own own butler and houseboy who prepared all the meals); a mansion so posh that it went on to become a foreign embassy – is a similar “service to our country” as those who fought and risked their lives, and died, in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

That is sick. This is the first I have heard about this. How could anyone in their right minds vote for this douchebag? I think with this statement she just slapped all our brave fighting men and women in the face. How disrespectful!

It's a wonder he got out of there alive!

in a heartbeat.

I think the you-know-what word should go back into circulation strictly for application to her.

Her answers are not well crafted, but crafted
she said missions .... not mormon missions
You know like chuck norris goes on 'missions'
i just wish Ms Goldberg would have asked more about the 'missions'
Is it like boot camp at Parris Island
do they build low income housing?
do they feed the poor?
do they build churches, schools, choir stands, Locus traps?
What service is provided?

What Magic challenges does the Mormon church present , I assume it is something like the marines, to turn 'Boys into Men'

near NC military bases--and in other states that are close and have military bases.

If that wouldn't change a few minds...well....

to the point where Ann would need to be shuttered off somewhere and kept out of public view until the election.

But because people on the right are so convinced that Obama is the Muslim reincarnation of Hitler/Stalin they'll vote for a candidate whose wife equates his living in luxury in France to soldiers dodging bullets and huddling in foxholes.

... as a condition for citizenship on undocumented aliens brought to the US at a young age and entirely raised here but not legally citizens. I can only think of Starship Troopers, with Mitt and his square jawed spawn delivering the last line of the second film without missing a beat: "Hurry up spud, we need fresh meat for the grinder." But if you are in the elite class of "psychics", you just feed the meat into the grinder...

And then I think of a Presidency with Mitt and it doesn't seem altogether absurd that I am seeing similarities to Air Marshall Omar Anoke, leader of the Federation in the third movie. Although, frankly, Anoke seems like a nicer, more genuine guy than Mitt.

Or did he figure that avoiding the draft and living in a Paris mansion said everything that needed to be said?
