(5,946 posts)1)she would still be supporting the TPP
2) she would not be on TV much because the "plan" was fes debates, fewer appearances and not talking much - the stealth candidates - this is not a winning tactic.
3) Not had a chance to tweak her programs to appeal to the masses - do you really think her excessive use of I which is now more us would have occurred without a challenge, she would have been a sitting duck for republicans, undefined to the public and untested. I think she is learning to speak to the audience and not just read speeches, the inspring speeches are when they look you in the eye.
Competition is good.
But I still hope that Sanders wins because his programs are more to my mindset. I went to college when it was almost free - could not have gone if it were as expensive as it is now, less wars and you can have nice things like streets without potholes, bridges that don't collapse and free college, etc.
Yes, this is not the Hillary groups so I can post here.

(12,689 posts)No matter how the delegate math shapes up, Sanders is going to try and force a floor fight. It's going to be quite ugly, I guarantee it.
Onlooker
(5,636 posts)... I think that's what the superdelegate model is about. They will most likely side en masse with the winner. That said, if Sanders should manage to actually win among the elected delegates, it's possible the superdelegates would still not back him because (1) he basically accepts that (indicating that if he was behind in delegates, he would lobby superdelegates to switch, (2) he's not a real Democrat, just opportunistically (and wisely) using the Democratic Party for strategic reasons, and (3) he might not be loyal to the superdelegates, who are largely establishment Democrats. If the superdelegates betray the voters, it could get ugly, but if Hillary is leading even by one, they will vote en masse for her, and the Bernie supporters might be angry, but they will accept the results.

(708 posts)We are watching.
Onlooker
(5,636 posts)But, hopefully whoever wins will win by enough of a margin among elected delegates for the losers to respect the outcome.
DemocracyDirect
(708 posts)It could get interesting.
Onlooker
(5,636 posts)But, the bottom line is we have to defeat Trump or Cruz. They are both more dangerous than the ordinary Republican, so in the end either the Hillary people or the Sanders people will have to come to their senses. We can't be too divided in the end. It's too dangerous.

A difference of 50 or less pledged Delegates and 40,000 people protesting outside the convention.
Will need to wait and see.

(23,272 posts)Neither have robust environmental proposals to tackle climate change. They spell doom within 10 years for our future.
Only Sanders and Stein have significant climate change focus. Even now its close to too late.

(5,636 posts)... but it's going to a difficult issue to prevail on. I think Obama tried quite hard, but the obstacles extend beyond our borders. Sad to say, it won't be taken seriously until it affects middle America in a clear way.

(928 posts)And as a taxpayer I'm really sick and tired of spending money on Hillary and the cost of propping up her bad decisions. I'd really like to know how much we as tax payers have spent on her so far and hate to think how much we're going to spend if elected.
Hell, her decision to have a private e-mail server has cost us millions alone. And that's just one of the long list of things she's made bad decisions about that have cost us.
DURHAM D
(32,783 posts)"private e-mail server has cost us millions alone"
It is Trey and the Republicans who wasted your money.
too funny
Somebody should have them arrested for breaking into the Clinton household and installing that private e-mail server.
What type of torture did they use to force her into using it instead of a government server? Maybe we should use that technique on terrorist.

(23,156 posts)From now on Hillary is going fall farther and farther behind in delegates.
I'd like to see her drop out, but she probably won't.

(9,527 posts)wouldn't that require her to be behind? She's still substantially ahead with several large favorable states coming up.

(819 posts)I am almost positive she will put aside or put away her current stance on TPP and see it gets pushed through if elected....
She put away bringing Henry Kissinger's name in touting her close advisors and role models ....
She put away phrases like "bring them to heel" .... after being called out on it.
She will put away any progressive ideas if she gets the nomination. I guarantee you, she is bought and paid for by Corporate. Can't allow to have Medicare For All.
Is that what you mean by putting this away?

(30,058 posts)Has proven over and over she is presidential, she had the Benghazi hearings, did great, has had lots of great debates, stood very tall on her response to the Brussels terrorist attacks, has been to show her ability to respond with knowledge of foreign affairs, it is going her way and has impressed Republicans over their clown car runs.

(1,019 posts)Clinton had every possible advantage. She had the party establishment, the business establishment, the media establishment, and tons of money. Yet she still might lose to an obscure independent senator from a tiny state. And if she does win the nomination it will be because of the super-delegates. (She may very well win a simple majority of pledged delegates but is unlikely to win enough pledged delegates to clinch the nomination)
What does this say about her campaign? If she has this much trouble defeating Bernie how will she defeat Trump or Cruz? Clinton was right when she said that she is not a natural politician. Can someone who is not a natural politician and has a very high unfavorable rating be elected president?
