(132 posts)I hate to be negative, but after all the crap we've witnessed in politics, I can pretty much tell what's going to happen.
There will be a ton of good people, well intentioned citizens that will come and testify about their illegal disenfranchisement from the opportunity to participate in democracy. The "honorables" mentioned above will dutifully listen and take careful note of their issues. Then, being the good elected representatives that they are, will do JACK SHIT about it.
After a time, when the incensed citizenry and their allies (including the ACLU and so forth) finally have their say in court after said officials didn't do JACK SHIT in the first place, some "honorable" elected judge will listen intently, ask meaningful questions, and show sincere concern over the abject failure of the system. And then, after an inordinate amount of time that inevitably runs out the clock, they will rule in favor of JACK SHIT.
How many times have we seen this? How many times have we actually seen a "do-over?" How many times have officials truly done the right thing to make it right and uphold the civil rights of voters? How many times have we seen parties or government shine light on the black box voting machines, mass disenfranchisement, and the shady tricks?
I have outrage fatigue, and sadly, I feel there isn't JACK SHIT that we the people can do about it.
