http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voter-registration/I have seen on the internet people posting that some California registrations are not showing up accurately.
Verify to be sure and pass it on so others can check. Some are just fine and some have reported issues. CA is delegate rich.
UPDATE:
California is semi-closed primary. Must be registered by May 23rd (Monday).
To vote for Bernie or HRC must be registered as a "Democrat" or "No Party Preference".
If you are registered as an Independent you can't vote for either of them.
(if this incorrect in anyway, please let me know.)

(13,297 posts)find your registration info online and verify (and I'd go to the trouble of doing a photo or screen-grab to have on your phone for voting day -- but sure gives peace of mind to check now
thanks gs54
* mine was set to 'Independent', which means you CANNOT vote for Bernie... have fixed it
ALSO NOTE: California does not allow Independents to vote for Democratic candidates - must be 'NO PARTY PREFERENCE' or 'DEMOCRATIC PARTY'

(231 posts)My hubby and I have both been registered as Independents..
Could've sworn I voted in the last primary as an independent too. Did the CA Democratic party change the rules for this election?

(13,297 posts)I tell everyone I cross paths with... it would be really disappointing to show up without the ability to vote in the primary - my paperwork shows NPP (no party preference)

(231 posts)No kidding..that would have been disheartening! Unfortunately if we don't get the word out if will happen to some folks.

(89 posts)This thread is not about the HRC campaign doing anything with CA voter registration.

(1,820 posts)Everyone should check and not only did I check I took a snag-it to put in my purse for election. I don't want to be someone excluded in this election.
I will be voting for Bernie and want to be sure I am counted!!

(6,719 posts)We need to spread the word.
And when you post on FB and other places, tell them to pass it on as well.
Share the link.

(3,128 posts)However, I could not find my name as registered to vote. I am calling tomorrow but this is very serious!

(89 posts)This needs to spread all around. I keep hearing some are fine and some have glitches.
Good to double check and maybe save your proof.

(3,128 posts)I would have received my absentee ballot to vote as I am usually busy on election days and can have that option. After Iowa, Hawaii, Arizona, and a few other disasters or near-disasters, I think that we must all be wary and extra careful.

(230 posts)Voters in WI, NY, PA and CA among other states are reporting their voter affliliations have been changed unbeknownst to them. It's too late in some of those states to get them changed back to be able to vote in their upcoming primary. This is a huge issue. It appears to be Sanders voters that are affected.

(89 posts)People have been calling in to the Thom Hartmann show having issues with their voter registration.
Some are fine. Some are not.
I think the Secretary of State in CA needs to look into this.
A few problems is too many, which translates into a lot of people. One suggestion is that it was when the system changed in 2012 to a new one. Not all registrations got through the change unscathed.
