According to Daily Kos, Obama visited Clemson today in order to honor Military.
Crowd booed him. I'm just wondering about black football players on both teams.
Do you think they might have tried to show support for him in this fucked up situation?
I hope everyone who booed him today are fucked with private debt they'll never get out
of. Nothing but unadulterated ignorance and racism!

Just learned that Obama wasn't there. Still Fucked up however.
My passion for winning this election makes me very jumpy. Sorry!

(213 posts)I was at the game. I just started shaking my head when they did it. They also had stickers on their shirts that said "Tigers for Romney". Good news is I only saw 2 Virginia Tech Fans with them.

(19,768 posts)Simply because it was in the South?
Seems more likely to me that it was a (tacky) display of political expression.
And I can't help but wonder how loudly we'd be cheering here if the same exact thing occurred, but it was Romney being booed instead.
But seriously, unless I missed something glaring at your link, where does racism come in?
busterbrown
(8,515 posts)There is a strong element of racism to everyone who votes for Romney.
Lets start with govt. hand outs and moochers......Code anyone?
Skip Intro
(19,768 posts)That is what is being alleged.
Why is it being alleged?
What backs up that allegation?

(19,768 posts)Anybody who boos (or questions or criticizes Obama, as that line of thinking goes) is racist by default?
Is that what you're saying?
Or, I'll ask again, can you give me a factual reason to assume racism in this specific case?

(68,868 posts)Whether it's because they're overt racists or simply ignorant, cousin-marrying, redneck hicks is an open question.
Regardless, Clemson is not exactly a degree that one brags about.

(19,768 posts)Really, I've been asking the same question over and over and no one will give me a direct answer.

(4,528 posts)My kids are at UGA. The hatred of African Americans is blatant and right out there. My son won't even take his best friend up to athens. It's that bad. His frat is supposed to be the most open and they have one African American. You should see their blog page. N****r this, n*****r that. There nickname is Blank nig. I hate it here.

(19,768 posts)I happen to live in SC myself, in the Charleston area.
I know the bs the South gets here on DU, and a lot of it is just that - bullshit.
I prefer to deal in facts, and stick to the topic at hand.
President Obama was booed.
He's certainly not the first president to be booed.
Without any supporting evidence, it is automatically assumed the cadets who booed are racists.
I'm sorry, in my world, a mere accusation does not equal fact.
Hence my original question.
busterbrown
(8,515 posts)progressives and DUers, however I don't think 5% of them would agree with you.
A fact is a fact and the fact is 90% of Southerners love the concept of State Rights
and would vote in a minute to get the Fed completely out of their lives.
Stupidity and Racist!
Skip Intro
(19,768 posts)Really.
You just called 90% of Southerners racist.
That's just flat out bullshit.
All that aside, you still haven't answered my question. Well, actually, your non-answer was an answer. There wasn't anything to indicate the boos were racist. It is just an assumption you and others here, and at Kos, made, tossing the accusation with wild abandon, based on nothing other than prejudiced opinions of a group of people based on their geographic location. Isn't that a tad bigoted?
busterbrown
(8,515 posts)You refuse to answer the question.....Why?
Fawke Em
(11,366 posts)No. Most of us don't know what the fuck state's rights mean.
Most of us aren't racist, but we still live in the filth that allows it to be displayed openly and few challenge it.
MOST of us hate that shit, but when it comes to voting... well... most of us can't or won't vote, so we're still outnumbered, obviously, and then you wonder why it doesn't change.

(13 posts)I was at that Clemson game today and wasn't surprised. You have to remember this crap state is owned by the gop except for the minorities and a few people like me. Obama wasn't there though. What happened is at half-time the military was going through the induction and they said "serve the president of the usa" and people in the crowd started booing.
