Such personal attacks are despicable.

(12,689 posts)People merely commented on his nasty attitude with her on stage. When someone is so blatantly rude with their spouse on stage it should be expected that people are going to comment.
It doesn't do much to dispel that rumor that Sanders is a pain to work with.

(1,377 posts)You would understand why this was done. But let me say that during a open public event like this you want your wife out of the spot she was standing in. Watch the Trump Video of SS protection him when the person rushed the stage.
I didn't realize that Secret Service had confirmed this. I didn't realize she was actually in danger.
Gwhittey
(1,377 posts)as it is policy of SS to never discuss procedures. I was just telling you to watch they video of Trump to get a idea.
Luminous Animal
(27,310 posts)the Secret Service. It was probably a sightline where the Secret Service had eyes on Bernie and could not be blocked.
When he pointed down and she looked, she got it and laughed a bit and backed off.
Neither of them are accustomed to Secret Service coverage.
magical thyme
(14,881 posts)He was in the middle of his speech and Jane and the other woman got in his physical space and were actually jostling and bumping into him from behind.
He simply broke from his speech, quickly asked them to not stand directly behind him and gestured with his hand, and then turned back to continue his speech.
It wasn't the time or place for him to have a lengthy discussion to explain to them that they were distracting and interfering with the speech. He therefore got his message across as quickly and simply as possible so he could get back to the business at hand.
Neither his tone nor his words were in the least bit nasty.
This is very much ado about nothing and makes clear the desperation of some people to find something, anything, to attack him for.
KingFlorez
(12,689 posts)It's not my candidate, so whatever it does is the problem of his supporters. I'm just stating an opinion. End of the debate.

(131,193 posts)Worse, however, was the tone of the article. It described the Vermont Senator as a "cad," which we have no reason to believe is fair.
Even if we had gotten these important details correct, the question becomes, was this newsworthy? In an age where the media sometimes us, included breathlessly reports what seems like every comment that Donald Trump makes, and now, nearly every comment that Ted Cruz makes, one might say yes, but I do not.
This was not newsworthy, and that we suggested it was by publishing it did a disservice to our readers and to the Senator and his wife. For all this we apologize to our readers and to Senator and Mrs. Sanders. We were wrong. Our readers, and Senator and Dr. Sanders deserve better. Again, we apologize, to you all.

(12,689 posts)He said "don't stand there" and shooed her away. Jane Sanders was on that stage.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(131,193 posts)You wanted to see and hear something negative about Sanders and so you did. But the publication that reported the story has retracted it and apologized.
KingFlorez
(12,689 posts)But, perhaps I'm just crazy. I apologize for what I said, she was never on stage, it was only Bernie Sanders. I cannot tell how sorry I am. I'm in tears right now.
Not really. I'm not damn crazy, the video clearly shows Jane Sanders on stage. Good grief.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(131,193 posts)You wanted that to be true but the story has been retracted. That part didn't happen, much as you wish it had.
KingFlorez
(12,689 posts)I know rude when I see it and shooing someone like a dog is rude. Again, it's a matter of opinion.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(131,193 posts)You're entitled to your own opinion but you're not entitled to your own facts?
KingFlorez
(12,689 posts)I saw it as rude, you didn't. Personally, I think snapping at someone and shooing at them is rude, but others might see it differently.
melman
(7,681 posts)You are pretending to think it was rude. Everybody can see that is what you are doing, so why continue?
KingFlorez
(12,689 posts)That was my perception and there are others who saw it as rude too. You cannot tell some that they are pretending about their perception of something unless you are some sort of psychic or medium.
Call Dionne Warwick, because we got potential for a psychic friend here!
The Velveteen Ocelot
(131,193 posts)is off-limits for discussion, it's perfectly OK for people to pass around false stories that have been retracted about the Sanders'? If that's OK, why may I not mention Bill's wandering weenie and blue dresses and cigars? Sauce for the goose and all that. The only difference is that the stories about Bill's escapades are actually true.

I do ponder why all the worst of the worst on DU all seem to support the same candidate. Part of me wants to think that they are Rove plants, here to just create divisiveness. No honest Democrat would behave the way those on my ignore list do, imho.
