2. The media has created a "horse race" in order to pull in additional ad revenue and tilt the race back toward the corporatists.

With less and less young people like myself leaving the family household in their 20s, many may be living with conservative parents, whom answer these polls.

I don't buy for a moment that young voters are sitting this election out.

It's getting ridiculous, and it will get worse, the closer we get.

Also, right wingers are all over the internet posting nonsense, on places like Yahoo articles and yahoo answers and we as democrats need to wake up and get our information out there as well because this sort of thing does swag elections.

I'm doing my part on Yahoo articles and Yahoo answers when I can; DU please come join me.

about Obama winning:

NBC has been showing likely voter trending down for the President since September so there is no "surge" for Romney. The President was was up 5 points in early September, up 3 points in late September, and is now tied. A slow decline.

The race was expected to tighten, but look at the registered voter trend, the President in...

August was +4
Early September +6
Late September +7
Today's +5

Mitt hasn't made any gains among RVs, his number has been 44 through all these polls. <<<<<<No "surge."

Hope that makes you feel better.

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory,[3] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[4] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[5] The noun troll may refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted."

Sun Oct 21, 2012, 12:21 PM
Oct 2012

I'm undecided and see pros and cons in both main candidates (and other candidates). But, given anti-troll posts like http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021589861 I'll go back to reading DU for all issues and try to only post when I can add information that DU will like.

There are many sites you can read to understand where Romney supporters are coming from, though not as many like DU to understand Obama supporters.

In a large number of cases, the differences is in base beliefs and premises, not necessarily in the policy. For example, a "good policy" that is not the proper role of government is not a good policy. If/when you go to other sites, try to understand where they are coming from no just their argument on specific policies/issues.
