The security logs bolster Mrs. Clintons assertion that her use of a personal email account to conduct State Department business while she was the secretary of state did not put American secrets into the hands of hackers or foreign governments.
Thats right. They found nothing. There is nothing scandalous to see in the emails. There is nothing! Sad trombone.
The only thing remotely noteworthy was a fairly average rate of phishing scams. Fortunately, under Hillarys bold leadership, the State Department staff were savvy enough not to click the link from the Prince of Zaire offering to give you your shocking inheritance of a million dollars if you just give him your credit card information. Diplomacy, baby!

(45,806 posts)disprove anything she has said. The OP sounded like this was info on the FBI results and it's not.

(10,650 posts)The logs about whether she was hacked are not what the FBI is concerned about. A good hacker can fool the logs anyway. This is just stupid.

Yes, there is.
For instance, Clinton explicitly states her intention to PREVENT Mel Zelaya from returning to his country, Honduras, and to his ELECTED office of president. Zelaya was kidnapped at gunpoint by the U.S. supported Honduran military and flown out of his country with a refueling stop at the U.S. airbase in Honduras. All of Latin America cried out against this and demanded his return. Clinton prevented his return and legitimized the fascist coup government. She says so right in her emails. Result: Many peaceful anti-coup activists in Honduras, including many thousands of women leaders of this movement, have been raped, beaten, imprisoned, fired from their jobs and murdered, including Berta Caceres, an indigenous Honduran activist and winner of the Goldman Environmental Prize, just this month.
More than scandalous. Clinton bears responsibilities for these murders.
Another for instance: President Obama told Clinton that he did not want Sydney Blumenthal in the State Department. Clinton sneaked around this Obama order, set Blumenthal up at the Clinton Foundation with a big salary, and proceeded to communicate with him ABOUT FOREIGN POLICY using her private email server, presumably so Obama wouldn't find out.
In addition, classified documents were involved in these exchanges; Blumenthal did not have any security clearance at all. This scandalous defiance of the President may well be linked to Clinton's pay-for-play, by which she made arms deals with 20 countries (including Saudi Arabia, so nice to women, yes?) after they contributed big bucks to the Clinton Foundation. Personally, I think that THIS is what the FBI is focusing on. Not on sloppy security with an outside server, but on corruption--that is, what Clinton was using the server FOR.
This OP article is just fluff. There has been no word from the FBI that the investigation has concluded. Rumor has it that Clinton will be called for a deposition.
I don't think anybody outside of the FBI, and probably Obama and a few others, knows whether this is a protective whitewash, or a real investigation with potential for a Clinton indictment, or whether she is innocent of any crime.
The rule in politics USED TO BE that, like judges and others holding the public trust, you need to avoid ANY APPEARANCE of impropriety, along with not committing improprieties. Clinton has certainly blown that. Her improprieties are legion. But this is a new day, ain't it? Cheney set the new 'rules' with his blatant Halliburton corruption.
In any case, whatever happens, it is unprecedented to have a presidential candidate, in the middle of an election, being investigated by the FBI--especially on security issues (given the job she's after), but I think, more importantly, on corrupt use of the Sec of State's office.

(13,685 posts)Since they are so damned corrupted they have a hard time calling out someone else who also appears so corrupted.
When it was just Benghazi and that attack, they raised a stink. Now that it appears to have gone beyond that and looks like weapon trading and corruption is being uncovered they hide in the dark like the cock roaches they are.
I hope Obama doesn't get caught up in trying to protect any corruption, but I think he may be too smart for that and is one reason the FBI is proceeding as it is.
