Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are locked in a surprisingly competitive battle for New York, with a poll on Thursday showing that the Vermont senator has closed to within 12 points of the former first lady who only recently led by 48 in her adopted home state.
The Quinnipiac University poll shows Clinton leading 54 to 42 percent heading into the New York primary on April 19, when 291 delegates are at stake.
Thats a dramatic shift from two polls earlier in March
Democratic analyst Douglas Schoen said the closer-than-expected results mirror a national trend.
Sanders, he said, is connecting with the most liberal progressive voters, of whom there are many in New York. Bernie is also riding momentum from a wave of victories in Western states.

Let's really expose what the candidates are saying and why. Let's go, New York!

(31,700 posts)Unfortunately, the dates and venues [Clinton] has proposed dont make a whole lot of sense, Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs responded in a statement. The idea that they want a debate in New York on a night of the NCAA finals with Syracuse in the tournament, no less is ludicrous. We have proposed other dates, which they have rejected. We hope we can reach agreement in the near future.

(20,453 posts)I like to take these personal polls. They're very revealing with the states I've talked to and the result of the races (if people are allowed to vote, that is).

(55,745 posts)Do you invite the people you talk with to tell their family and friends about Bernie Sanders?
I'm getting a vibe the Urosevich brothers are about her only hope.
That stuff that happened out west over the last few weeks is no fluke. When enough people find out, it's like a cascade of dominoes.
For me, I bring up his integrity and people listen. They have tired of candidates who say one thing and eh elected officials who do another.

(20,453 posts)In PA, it's iVotronics for me (Allegheny county, as you know)... Yep, that's her only hope.
Yes, in fact, I do invite those I talk to, including getting neighbors to vote. Too bad I can't seem to get members of my own family to switch from "Independent" in NYS elections. My brother will have to opt out because he thinks he's "independent"... In a pigs eye... but, that's another story.

A Hacker Said He Rigged the 2012 Mexican Election, and It May Still Be Happening TodayBy Oscar Balderas and Nathaniel Janowitz
Vice News, April 1, 2016 | 2:15 pm
An imprisoned Colombian hacker, Andrés Sepúlveda, claims he fraudulently helped Enrique Peña Nieto win Mexico's 2012 presidential election, as well as manipulate elections in eight additional countries across Latin America.
Sepúlveda's interview with Bloomberg Businessweek caused a stir throughout Latin America, as well as the United States, particularly for the alleged involvement of Juan Jose Rendón, a Miami-based political consultant who, Bloomberg wrote, has been called the Karl Rove of Latin America for his dark influence on right-wing politics.
And according to the campaign manager for the candidate whom Peña Nieto beat, cybercrimes of the sort Sepúlveda alleged are still happening in Mexican politics.
The hacker claimed that Rendón hired him repeatedly to commit a wide variety of crimes to affect the outcomes of elections, including installing malware, hacking websites, creating fake profiles, and digitally spying on opposition candidates.

(20,453 posts)Same old formula... We manipulate and corrupt others so that they can come back and fortify our misdeeds at home.
Thanks to Judi Lynn and you, as always... Meanwhile, I'm at a loss for what to do when my iVotronics vote occurs or doesn't.

It was only 3 months ago Hillary supporters were bragging that Bernie would only win 1 state....maybe.

(6,437 posts)The article is trying to make believe that Bernie has suddenly and radically closed the gap in the last 3 weeks by mixing poll results. That is nonsensical.

(14,498 posts)The NYS DEM machine wants this one reeeeal bad.
They do NOT want to lose it.
The Bernie campaign needs lawyers and observers all over the friggin place but esp in NYC area and Buffalo ( Erie County.)
You know... pretty much the only areas in the state that voted for Cuomo over Teachout in last year's primary.
See what I'm sayin' ?

(8,209 posts)fucking on it!
But the Bernie movement has a lot of savvy young kids in it.
Being sixty, I am really hoping the youngsters are stepping up to the plate on this one.
Things will look fairly bleak otherwise.

(14,498 posts)The kids are *fantastic*.... but I'm not sure they have the life experience to recognize how evil people can be, what they can do, and what they can rationalize.
The default position is to give people the benefit of the doubt. Who wants to go around thinking most people are untrustworthy , dishonest and potentially COMPLETELY corruptible?
I sure didn't when I was young.
Now... well.
