Long story short: DNC rules mandate that district level delegates reflect caucus voting, not county convention voting.
Hillary won Nevada.

(23,272 posts)except in that county the votes were flipped to Hillary.
I dont remember any of you upset when it happened to Bernie in IA.
FWIW, I happen to think it sucks on either side.
Everyone's vote matters and should count no matter who you're voting for.

(29,798 posts)The Hillary campaign has been operating in a sleazy fashion from before day one. As for Nevada, are you cool with the role Harry Reid played in bussing in voters to cast their ballots under the supervision of their bosses?
If you are...
LastLiberal in PalmSprings
(13,292 posts)Otherwise Hillary would have to win all of the required delegates the regular way -- you know, by the vote of the people.

(23,156 posts)According to what I find on line she took 52.6% of the vote or the delegates, I think it's the delegates, and Bernie took 47.3%.
And if her pledged delegates can't be bothered to show up for the next step of the process, then that speaks volumes about just how committed her supporters are. At least in Nevada.

Oh, I forgot. Bernie will win Wisconsin in a landslide. And then NY in a landslide. And then PA in a landslide. And then NJ and CA in a landslide.
Enjoy the Wyoming Caucus a week from today. It is the last caucus and therefore Bernie's last landslide.
mythology
(9,527 posts)That insult doesn't work when Clinton is substantially ahead in pledged delegates. If you take out the super delegates, Clinton has won 61% of the pledged delegates necessary for the nomination (2026 without super delegates) and Sanders has won 48% of the pledged delegates necessary. So it's kind of hard to argue that Clinton wouldn't be able to win if she didn't have super delegates given that she's already substantially ahead.
LastLiberal in PalmSprings
(13,292 posts)I just don't understand the role of superdelegates in the process. If they automatically go with the leading candidate, why have them at all? BTW, I'd have the same question if Bernie was leading. It just seems as if the whole concept of superdelegates falls in the same category as the electoral college process -- a way to subvert the will of the people.
Otherwise we would have had President Gore rather than Dubya, who won by one vote (on the Supreme Court).

(83 posts)I heard the opposite:
The Clark County Dem party told them they had to change their vote to Clinton if they wanted to go to the convention. They were told if theyre unwilling to change their vote they can just go home. Sanders campaign attorneys showed up as the Bernie delegates refused to leave. The Clark County Dem party called the police an are trying to get the Bernie delegates arrested.

(687 posts)You guys want it both ways. If Bernie wins Nevada then he is not aligning with the will of the people that voted.
But if Super Delegates vote against the will of the people from their state it's just the rules.
You obviously don't care except if Hillary wins no matter if any rules are broken by her team.
That's just sad, no wonder the Democratic party is in trouble.

Even articles from Las Vegas aren't really that helpful http://lasvegassun.com/news/2016/apr/02/sanders-wins-most-delegates-at-clark-county-conven/
And an April 3 updated story from AP still has Clinton winning the delegate count, 20 to 15.

(507 posts)This was the County level convention.
So while I'm waiting to learn more about the implications of what happened today, I'm not going to agree with a copy/paste of something that is referring to an event that has not occurred yet.
I've only just started learning about caucusing in my state but it doesn't seem to be a cut and dried process.

(31,700 posts)After the Clark County Democratic Convention, Bernie Sanders has flipped his close Nevada caucus loss to a 14-point win. The Sanders campaign pulled out a victory in Nevadas most populous county at this weekends convention in Las Vegas.
When adding that new delegate count to the delegate counts from Nevadas 16 other counties recorded on February 20, Sanders won the state with 4,379 delegates to Clintons 3,634 delegates, for a total of 8,013 delegates who will go to the Nevada Democratic Partys state convention in May. This gives Sanders 57.8 percent of the vote, making him the new winner of the Nevada caucus.
