Neither has to release anything.

Release the transcripts! Release the tax returns! We demand them! OK, fine. Demand anything you want. It would be nice to see them, and I hope the candidates provide them, but it's not required. All this back and forth is just noise. Remember this? "Show us the birth certificate!"

(i.e. prior tax returns) have been customary for presidential candidates for quite some time now. Not so with transcripts of speeches a candidate may have given somewhere, sometime.

He'll release his tax returns, what the hell you guys expecting to find in tax returns anyways?

Gee, I wonder what could be in those speeches though. It's been 59 days since she looked into it.
