(1,235 posts)then he is, as are all members of congress, legally required to report them to the FEC ... you can find all of his investments going back to the 1987 I believe it is. Opensecrets.org would have them all.

Bernie gives them some money and they invest it for his retirement.
Isn't that how it works with those outfits?
Once again, it looks like David Brock and company are pretty hard up to find anything very sinister about Bernie.
Promoting stupid crap like this is a waste of time and is kind of reassuring that after digging around for months trying to find some crap on Sanders, they really couldn't come up with much -
Whining about his tax returns (already partially provided/disclosed since 1990) and who his retirement funds invest in, is pretty lame.

(4,935 posts)sure of - but think it is also a variety of retirement plans.
But you can talk till you are blue in the face. None of this will convince them of anything. They don't want reason or fact. They want to WHINE!!!!

(9,067 posts)Is Bernie too stupid to roll his money into a more responsible fund? Valid is part of AIG for god's sake!
Brock is correct - Bernie doesn't have to put his $s with the worst of the abuser firms.
Doesn't Bernie's family have an island account too??
He doesn't walk the walk.

(10,122 posts)So this asshole is going after Bernie for retirement stuff his wife got as an educator. Bernie has to declare their existence but they don't belong to him - they're not jointly held.
Another is Bernie and Jane don't have six figures to throw at Sidney Blumenthals and David Brocks to do the grunt work on this. They have to do it themselves. And lately, I think they've been pretty busy.
Thirdly, here's an example of Jane's investment:
Valic Div Value Fund $1,001 to $15,000
https://www.opensecrets.org/pfds/assets.php?year=2014&cid=N00000528
This is what he tries to associate with Jane Sanders:
Now he was concerned about Jane's investment in this "Big Oil" Exxon oil company which is 2.91% of this fund. So if Jane has the low end of $1,001 dollars, Jane has maybe has little as $29.13 invested in "Big Oil" here or as high as $436.50.
That is something like 1/3 of a second to 6.2 seconds of one Hillary speech to Big Oil!!! (Hillary makes about $69.44 per second at those speeches)
WOW. Call the FBI!! We're worried about as little as $29.13 invested in "Big Oil" - that might not even fill their car's gas tank.
You want to know what is really sad? Hillary employs buffoons who think like this and she'll bring them with her to the White House. That bothers me a lot more than Jane's retirement fund because Jane's retirement fund won't be running the country but Hillary's clowns will. Chilling to think about, isn't it.

(9,067 posts)for purely progressive and moral reasons.
It's not hard to roll over to another company, choose different funds, etc. At their age, they have complete freedom to move retirement. Even educator funds like Valic and TIAA and others have options. Since Bernie's wife is paid and on the campaign trail, it would be smart to look at the place your money is invested.
Simply put, they didn't have the desire to examine their retirement fund and make a value-driven decision. Otherwise, Brock would not be able to find the investments that he found.

(10,164 posts)I assume you're just trolling, and aren't actually enough of an idiot to think that Bernie has ever advocated for eliminating Wall Street or discouraging investment. I've learned to expect disingenuousness from Camp Weathervane (like candidate, like supporter...), but I usually reserve the judgement of stupidity for Republicans.

(5,198 posts)HRC's corruption and her refusal to reveal her own records and speech transcripts, cannot compare with Bernie Sanders record.
Instead of answering all the questions asked of her she sends out her rabid dog Brock who has a knack for going after innocent people like Anita Hill.

(2,054 posts)And he's not representing their interests like Hillary is!
Nonsense.
Bernie and Jane make a little money from investments. So do millions of ordinary working people. Bernie and Jane3 make far less in total dividends and interest from their accounts in a full year than Hillary receives from a single Wall Street "speech" payoff!

I'm certainly not going to criticize Bernie for participating in the system as it's constructed today.
