I get banned from both BS & HRC groups for asking questions

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by BooScout (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

But this issue needs more questions asked. I have little influence anywhere, but I research like crazy and have questions about Glass Steagall and the ensuing chaos. This seems to be a given - Not replacing Glass-Steagall was disastrous.

"A historian explains why Bernie Sanders is right about the 1933 Glass-Steagall Act

Both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are talking tough about Wall Street reform. But only Bernie Sanders is advocating a reprise of the 1933 Glass-Steagall Act, specifically that section of the Depression-era act that had prohibited commercial banks and investment banks from operating under the same roof. Sanders believes that the repeal of Glass-Steagall in 1999 led to the formation of banks that became “too big to fail,” contributed to the financial crisis in 2008—and will lead to another crisis without corrective legislation."

1. Governor O'Malley proposed re-instating it:

Governor O’Malley will:

• Immediately Reinstate Glass-Steagall. The Volcker Rule, sometimes referred to as
“Glass-Steagall Lite,” is excessively complex, providing too many opportunities for
banks to exploit loopholes and ambiguities32. O’Malley will introduce legislation to
once again separate traditional banks from riskier financial services, while updating protections to account for new banking activities and prevent the new rules from being watered down. This will be one of his top priorities.

along with other actions, enumerated here: https://14d2r744okfe40r1ug1oqm6y-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/OMalley-Wall-Street-Reform.pdf

It required action after the repeal. There was no action. Why didn't Bill Clinton demand action to prevent what in fact transpired?

After the financial crisis of 2007–08, some commentators argued that the repeal of Sections 20 and 32 had played an important role in leading to the housing bubble and financial crisis. Joseph Stiglitz, for instance, argued that "when repeal of Glass-Steagall brought investment and commercial banks together, the investment-bank culture came out on top," and banks which had previously been managed conservatively turned to riskier investments to increase their returns.

I was banned from the Bernie group for having the audacity of supporting the DU TOS when one of their members was PPR'd. As I support admin's policy on supporting the Democratic Party in November, I supported the tombstoning. BAM! I was instantly blocked from the Bernie group, which should have instantly renamed themselves the "Manny Goldstein, I don't give a fuck about Democrats as much as myself, Group".

Then, there's the Hillary Clinton group, which I attempted to reach out to because I really will support Hillary in the GE if she gets the nod. However, the hosts there are if anything even bigger jerks than the Bernie group. I posted what I thought was a supportive (to Hillary) and humorous post mentioning Bernie's bird in Oregon.
BAM! Blocked!

Now here's the difference and it is telling. The hosts in the Bernie group responded to my inquiries via PM. We even had a respectful discussion about it, for naught.

The Hillary group never responded, which explains a lot about her candidacy and her supporters, their sense of entitlement, Hillary's inevitable coronation. That also explains why the DU Hillary Clinton group has blocked do damned many DUers. Like their candidate, they just don't care. As long as they win it doesn't matter how.

If Hillary Clinton gets the nod for November, this will be the most difficult vote in my lifetime, and I was born in the 1940's.

on edit: To the Hillary Clinton group hosts: Is that a way to win? Or to lose? BIRDIE SANDERS! BIRDIE SANDERS! PFTFFPFFTPFFT!

says a lot. WRT the Sanders group, it says, "sour grapes."

As to why you were banned from the other one, it could very well have been that one of its hosts suspected you were posting in your bathrobe. Doesn't take much over there.

They've long since passed having more than two blocked members for each subscriber. Shows you where the divisiveness truly lies, doesn't it?
