Latest MI polls 3 show Romney ahead and 2 show Santorum ahead

Can't be looking good for Romney. Polls tend to ask likely Republican voters and not take into account Dems and Inds that want to embarass Romney.

http://politicalwire.com/archives/2012/02/27/mixed_polling_results_in_michigan.html

Though a Public Policy Polling survey released late last night showed Mitt Romney regaining the lead over Rick Santorum in the Michigan GOP primary, 39% to 37%, a new Mitchell Research/Rosetta Stone poll shows Santorum taking over the lead back from Romney, 37% to 35%.

A new We Ask America poll shows Romney ahead 37% to 33%.

A new American Research Group survey shows Santorum just ahead, 36% to 35%.

A new Rasmussen survey shows Romney leading, 38% to 36%.

2. Only problem is, as PPP noted, Romney does have a substantial lead among early voters

so Santorum would have to win pretty solidly in the actual voting tomorrow. This is where Romney's organization is helping. Santorum doesn't even have a campaign office in Michigan.

According to the PPP polling, Santorum is winning voters who will vote tomorrow. People who will vote tomorrow will make up a much larger percentage of the overall vote so this is good for Santorum. Regardless of who wins, it will be very close. I don't really care who the nominee is because I think both are weak candidates. I just want Romney to lose MI because it has been so annoying to listen to the "native son" nonsense for 5 years.

I don't know how many Dems will show up. I'm doubtful there will be a huge number of Dems. The PPP poll showed about 5% were Dems. Since it will probably be a close election, even a small number of Dems could effect the result.

There simply aren't that many die-hard politicos out there who will do it.

according to most polls in Michigan. After Santorum had his triple wins a couple of weeks ago, the Michigan polls indicated that Santorum had taken a 6 or 7 point lead. In the last week especially most of the polls have been closing in Romney's favor including PPP which went from a 6-point Santorum lead to a 2-point Romney lead.
