The Sandy Hook children are not a prop

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by azurnoir (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

This is a national crisis that needs to be addressed.

Please, please, do not dismiss this issue as this DUer did

http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511667603

This is real, and it needs to be addressed.

The sheer cluelessness in this thread is very telling.

Let's talk about what happened in Sandy Hook. We will get no where until we do that.

AUTOMATED MESSAGE: Results of your Jury Service

On Wed Apr 6, 2016, 10:42 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

The Sandy Hook children are not a prop
http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511668430

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

The OP is clearly using this tragedy as a prop, deliberately posting it in GD-P. Disgusting.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Wed Apr 6, 2016, 10:47 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I'm not understanding what the problem is here. Is ANY mention at all of Sandy Hook off-limits because it's considered a "prop" or a "politicization"? I don't think so. Besides, there are no TOS violations.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Sanders made assertions today that Hillary is "politicizing" Sandy Hook. The charge of politicization of Sandy Hook is now a Pimary issue. I see no problem with discussing this in GDP. It is certainly not a hide worthy offense.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

They should have been left alone from this whole mess to begin with.

Again, Hillary crossed a line this time and I am quite disappointed. She started it with that insensitive, petty and ridiculous tweet of hers.

I can not understand why the campaign would do such a thing.

I do not agree with the response given by the Bernie camp either, but in balance, there was no good way to respond to it any how.
No response, would have left her insult unchallenged, and it is hardly true any how. There are different ways to go about gun control, but the idea of latching on to a bad law, that would allow manufacturers and sellers to be litigated for the illegal use of legal arms by a buyer is just pointless. Both Hillary and Sanders do have a gun control platform, and doing it that way was dumb.

By posting that tweet from her campaign, it opened up a whole can of worms.

Like I said before, I could understand if this was from a supporter posting it, as supporters can be crazy, but for the campaign itself to malign a fellow democrat in this way is just insane.
