2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumConservatives not happy with Romney's debate performance
Think Progress provides a sampling of some of them:
--
David Limbaugh: Why do these advisers tell Mitt not to go for the jugular? Why?
Laura Ingraham: Romney using kid gloves ag Obama tonight--WHY?!
S.E. Cupp: Obama is making laughable, easily argued points. But Romney's not effectively arguing them.

(1,134 posts)If there is a Romney surge why aren't the freepers frothing about the election? If there's a surge why aren't the wingnuts closing the gap in early voting? Sure they're up vs. 2008 but not nearly enough to constitute a 'wave' in IA, OH, and NC. If Romney was really surging he would be breaking the 270 and he has yet to do so for the first time in the entire campaign.

(41,198 posts)Romney is running the sketchiest campaign in memory; I'll credit him with being smart enough to realize that he has to. His fuel is the base's emotional hatred of the President. At least our hatred of Bush was grounded in specific policies that our candidates stood up for in the national campaign. If Romney wins, conservatives will see it as ideological validation. Mitt must think they're so cute.

(743 posts)Freepers heads are blowing up right and left it is freaking hilarious!! They are saying Rmoney was week and let Obama off the hook and didn't hit him on Libya and let Obama just sit there and tell lies the whole time.
How warped these hate filled people are. I love to hear them cry.

(15,185 posts)If their domestic agenda is pathetic (which it is), their foreign policy agenda basically boils down to "Obama is an appeaser". No one buys this bullshit, because we already know he'll make tough calls when needed (bin Laden), while Romney explicitly stated he wouldn't violate Pakistan's sovereignty back in '08...
We know Obama has continued and actually expanded targeted strikes and usage of drones (not necessarily something I always find effective), but I don't know what the GOP argument is against that. Maybe drones aren't making defense contractors enough and they'd rather sell higher priced toys like F22s.
As for Iran, there is literally nothing more the president can do, short of launching strikes or giving Israel the green light to do so. Both are foolish. Instead the President has brought together as strong a coalition he could and has put in place sanctions that are crippling Iran's economy.
What is the response on Syria? Lebanon? Egypt? Obama fucked up. That's nice. Tell me what you would have done differently. GW Bush stated he hated nation building twelve years ago. We're still in Afghanistan and we're still spending money on Iraq. Would the GOP have had us simply support Mubarak even after it was clear he was on his way out? Would the GOP have been cool with the slaughter of thousands in Benghazi? Or wait, the same idiots saying Libya was a blunder are calling for the support of the Syrian rebels. My God, my head is spinning. At least the two Paul are somewhat consistent on this...Romney is just Bush 2.0. It's the same intellectually stunted fucktards that brought us Iraq. No thanks. Instead Wriggling Romney simply slithers in a different direction and acts like Mr. Peacemaker. What bullshit.

(1,805 posts)the flop sweat? Severely hilarious! For most of the debate, I had absolutely no idea what Rmoney was babbling about. Too bad these debates couldn't have happened months ago, we'd be much farther up in the polls. How many undecided voters could possibly be left?

Cupp's is just purchased second hand.
I've yet to understand why she's on TV and treated as some kind of girl wonder and the voice of GOP youth.

(2,795 posts)Romney was like a deflated balloon, as if Obama burst his bellicose bubble at the previous debate with Romney's Libya fumble so Romney was afraid to go after the Pres on anything specific, just the same old vague rhetoric.
