The public doesn't need to meet some arbitrary bar before deciding she's a dishonest person. And so the public has, in fact, decided that she's dishonest, and they've done so in overwhelming numbers.

Funny, though, how these attempts at smear do not seem to be working their usual spell.

More enlightened public, someone telling the truth on the other side for a change, someone not willing to back down?

All of these and more.

When you're fundamentally on the side that people believe in, and have shown your commitment for years, and do not waver from your enlightened positions, and show that your enlightened positions actually predict things like the disaster in Iraq and the Panama Papers, then you've really got something good and solid on your side.

When, on the other hand, you change your position every other day, when you waver and waffle in order to get votes, when you hae shown a great willingness to collude with powers that do not have the average citizen at heart, then you have a built-in weakness.

Witness the hashtag #HillarySoQualified. It has been swamped with much truthtelling as to exactly what Hillary is most qualified for.

I admit she's a brilliant woman. I don't admit that she will ever do anything for positive or for what I truly need and want in the world, and I would like a politician who will fight for me like Bernie Sanders.

If you read what she actually said you may understand what is going on. She did point a big wagging finger at the FACT that Bernie had just butchered up the NY Daily News interview. A qualified presidential candidate would not do that. There is an implication, which is quite clear. She did not lie. He did make a hash of the interview.

Why did he come out so loud and crass? It looks bad for him. It won't make anyone forget about the bad answers that he gave in the NY Daily News interview.

It means he was giving an exact quote. And he was lying.

http://www.politico.com/story/2016/04/sanders-clinton-not-qualified-to-be-president-221666#ixzz45BHZUdMq
Follow us: @politico on Twitter | Politico on Facebook

"Now the other day, I think, Secretary Clinton appeared to be getting a little bit nervous," he began. "We have won, we have won seven out of eight of the recent primaries and caucuses. And she has been saying lately that she thinks that I am, quote unquote, not qualified to be president.

And from Politifact:

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/apr/07/bernie-s/bernie-sanders-not-qualified-be-president-hillary-/

Our ruling

Sanders said Clinton "has been saying lately that she thinks that I am 'not qualified to be president.' "
That's the spin some media outlets are putting on it, when Clinton dodged the question of whether or not she thinks Sanders is qualified.
But she's never directly said it, as Sanders specifically alleged.
Because the statement contains some element of truth but ignores critical facts that would give a different impression, we rate it Mostly False.

And from Mediaite:

Bernie lied! Hillary actually refused to call him unqualified – three times.

Democratic presidential candidate and independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has initiated a mass fainting spell among the political media by rattling off a list of reasons why he considers rival candidate and current frontrunner Hillary Clinton “not qualified to be president.” The attack has also galvanized Hillary’s supporters, who have responded with the trending hashtag #HillarySoQualified. Unlike a lot of pundits, I’m not that bothered by the charge, I love a smash-mouth campaign, and if it is indeed to be on like Donkey Kong, Hillary Clinton can handle herself.

What is a problem, though, is that Bernie Sanders launched his attack by first telling a big, fat, insane lie about Hillary. Here’s the full context of Bernie’s remarks, but pay close attention to the first part:

As Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon noted on Twitter, Hillary never said that, but it’s actually worse than that. Hillary Clinton not only never said that, she actually was aggressively pressed to say that exact thing, three different times in a row, and like some kind of reverse-Apostle Peter, refused each time:

Now, there are actually some Sanders supporters pointing out, with a straight face, that she also didn’t say he is qualified, or that what she did say wasn’t exactly a compliment, but I’ve got news for you guys: Hillary Clinton is Bernie’s political opponent, it is not her job to compliment him. It also doesn’t change the fact that she did not say what he directly quoted her as saying.
