Sanders Walks It Back: ‘Of Course’ Clinton Is Qualified to Be President

http://www.mediaite.com/online/sanders-walks-it-back-of-course-clinton-is-qualified-to-be-president/

Speaking at a town hall-style interview on The Today Show Friday morning, Sen. Bernie Sanders walked back his comments Thursday that Hillary Clinton was “not qualified” to be president.

Asked if the former secretary of state was qualified, Sanders replied, “Of course.” He added: “I hope that we get away from these attacks, which by the way, the media likes very much and start focusing … on the real issues.”

Sanders seems to be on something of a minor apology tour after the unusually rancorous tone he struck with his fellow candidate lately.

“On her worst day, she would be an infinitely better president than either of the Republican candidates,” he said on Today, echoing remarks he had made on late night television the previous night.

Oh dear. Welfare reform, the crime bill, making crack an offense that carries a bigger sentence than cocaine, letting people rot in jail over minor drug offenses. Also I don't really care about him being more or less racist than other Presidents. He holds himself up to be a liberal, yet he is anything but liberal. And I have never liked him.

inequality and racism.

They usually go into detail about the nanny state to be fair, but I listen to NO ONE who focuses their criticism on the left unless they first spend HOURS, MAYBE DAYS criticizing the right.

Unless they put the criticism of whoever it is, Clinton, Obama, etc., IN CONTEXT with the times and the disgusting assholes on the other side.

It is clear that Hillary will let them walk all over us and Bernie will tell us to smack em around. When we fight we win. Have a great day or whatever.

It's a long campaign and unfortunately this sort of thing occurs.

Hopefully this can be quickly done away with.

... either he sticks to his statement (which is totally false) or he walks it back (and is "flip-flopping&quot .

Neither one makes him look very presidential. But, walking it back at least helps to put an end to the story sooner than it would have otherwise been.

It's not been a very good week for Sanders.
