Bill "Sister Souljah" Clinton strikes again.
I'm am glad I don't have a primary vote for Hillary Clinton on my conscience right now.
EDIT: Let me be clear.
Heather Mac Donald is in no way, shape, or form (that I know of) a surrogate for the Hillary Clinton campaign.

She is regurgitating talking points very similar to what Bill Clinton said yesterday, though.

(3,089 posts)a Sister Souljah moment. He allowed the protestor to talk and then he took the opportunity to put the crime bill in perspective. And he was correct. Ask Bernie who also voted FOR the bill and all the black legislators who approved it and all the black families and neighborhoods who cried out for help during that era. Was it enforced justly...NO. Did it cause mass incarcerations...NO but it added to it. Mass incarcerations of blacks began during the Reagan era. Did crime go down..YES were assault weapons taken off the streets YES did people begin to feel safer in their own neighborhoods...YES was is a perfect bill ..NO has both Hillary and Bill said they regreted the harsh consequences ..YES has Hillary said she plans on addressing mass incarceration if she is elected...YES

(2,197 posts)Unleaded gasoline might have more to do with the decline in crime rates (which were already decreasing at the time the 1994 Crime Bill was passed).
But Bill regurgitated the same talking points yesterday that are being repeated here ad on Fox News...
You can go back and check my record on this...
I don't think that the crime bill was an altogether bad thing, especially at that time.
This is no longer the 1990's, the generation living with the consequences had no part in those particular circumstances, then Bill Clinton wants to accuse them of protecting murderers and positions himself as a great white saviour...

"Bernie Sanders does not have the INTIMATE connections with the black community that Hillary Clinton does (and Bill...but moreso Hillary)"
"Bill and Hillary Clinton have been networking in the black community for over 40 years."
"I am saying that Bill and Hillary Clinton have extremely long-lasting relationships with people in the black community and (with the possible exception of John Lewis) Bernie Sanders has not.
I'm talking about two very different levels of relationship, here.
Even Barack Obama didn't have relationships in the black community to the extent that the Clintons had. If Obama had to work for it, why shouldn't Sanders?"

That's just one thread. So if it's about owning our actions, let's do that. Half way does not really play.
