If Bernie shows up at the conference he will look very cynical. If he pulls out

he will look just as cynical.

Talk about a self-inflicted wound!

And he gets out of NY just before the primary!!

In this summary, I saw a great quote.
https://storify.com/Cajsa/sanders-and-the-vatican-story

adage w campaign people: it’s not your enemies that beat you, it’s your friends.

First Devine and Weaver covering their own posteriors before the campaign was even over, then the bungled response to a clickbait WaPo headline, and now this.

And this man expects to be President.

No, Hillary is going to be at George Clooney's house for a glittering star studded fund raiser there, it is one of her surrogates, Gary Gensler, who will be collecting the payoffs donations in Hong Kong.

Just wanted to clear that up.

I smack down Sanders supporters from time to time, defending HRC's Mass. win the other day.

When stuff is right, it's right. When it's wrong, it's wrong.

Recently, most of the dumb shit seems to be coming from from the HRC side of the house. Many seem to focus and beat to death stupid trivial shit that doesn't mean anything, flooding the GD P with spam crap, over and over. Each OP feeds another, furthering the tension of some of the members. I see a level of neurosis coming over a few, based on their stressful posts, frequency, and obsession.

It's really unbecoming to see play out, and getting a little excessive.

Fight the battles worth fighting, so you voice is more powerful. All this little neener-neener stuff invalidates your posts.

The SBS guys do it too, harp on some dumb thing, but like the other day...

There must have been 10 Sanders Token OPs for every Hillary Swipe OP. There is a serious imbalance in this behavior.

The small campaign stupidity that goes on, happens in every campaign. I ignore it. But, when I'm here and see incessant OPs spamming the same stupid shit, it doesn't cast a good light on those that do it. It's getting to the point where I'm posting dumb memes because the breakdown of discourse has turned many OPs farcical. I give a few OPs a pass, but when the dumb shit doesn't settle down after an hour or so, I try to convey to knock the stupid stuff off, but no one listens anyway. People are too caught up in their own campaigns, extending them to their own personhood. Religion and politics works in the same centers of the brain, and even if a person is an atheist, they can hold political beliefs as strong and narrow as a fundamentalist or evangelical.

but the way they are losing it... (And by that I mean Clinton Core Posters), tells me this is hardly an error and they are planting the seeds to counter the horrific optics

She having a cozy dinner with donors in San Fran, a very exclusive dinner, and her CFO having a 2700 affair in Hong Kong...

While their opponent is at one of those conferences on income inequality, a serious issue in world politics. this is why they are trying hard to at least neutralize the optics

When Sanders would lose, their side went into a frenzy, when Clinton's side would lose, same thing.

But, there is another psychological anomoly that seems to present itself lately, and it's getting worse.

Watching human nature unfold, mostly following honor's/doctorate level research and instruction, is fascinating.

What amazes me is how they tell me I support one side over the other. I suppose that is why I am trying to get credentials to cover the Cruz rally (shh, that is what reporters do).

But there is another pattern that is emerging that is even more disturbing than the dissonance.

on some of the Hillary supporters here but most of us here developed our critical thinking skills a long time ago. We don't need an anonymous person on the internet to explain to us about the Vatican invitation or about the anti-establishment movement that is coalescing around Bernie. We're quite capable of recognizing the truth on our own but thanks for the effort.

Even so, the simple fact of Sanders’s visit is remarkable: As a fairly progressive non-Catholic, he’s a curious choice of a speaker for a group of academically minded priests. In the middle of a tight race to the Democratic convention and presidential nomination, it’s also striking that he’s taking precious time off the campaign trail for a jaunt to Rome.

Jeffrey Sachs, a Columbia University professor who is presenting at the event, said in a phone interview that he helped the Vatican reach out to Bernie Sanders in March, and he doesn’t know why Archer alleged that the Sanders campaign initiated the gig. “The academy sent the invitation, it’s pure and simple,” he said. “A lot of people in the Vatican respect him a lot. He is speaking in the same kind of moral themes that Pope Francis, and the social teachings of the Church, promote, which is a moral economy.” A representative who works with Sachs also passed along an official invitation from Sanchez Sorondo to Sanders dated on March 30. But even though the invite appeared to come from an official Church body, that doesn’t mean it came from Pope Francis, and a spokesperson for the Vatican said it hasn’t been confirmed whether the senator and the pontiff will have a sit-down in Rome.

But although the venue isn’t much like the small-town high-school gymnasiums where Sanders has spent much of his time in recent weeks, this is another moment of Bernie being Bernie: taking any chance he can to decry the ills of the capitalism and the global economy, and to advance his vision of social justice.

He agreed to the debate in NH if she would agree to three additional debates, one in Michigan, one in California and another in NY, hopefully in Brooklyn before the NY primary.

The debate will be held in Brooklyn, before the NY primary.

Sanders has rather good negotiating skills IMHO.
