Hillary did not.

I guess Pope Francis is under the bus now.

The Clinton campaign had every opportunity to apply for the event, and didn't. Bernie did, and was issued an invitation.

Sloppy campaigning and griping after the fact is incompetent. Hillary needs to have her campaign managers get on top of these things.

Do you see now why people are saying her campaign is in disarray and she is her own worst enemy?

political hay over this.

If you don't want to be perpetually pissed off, pick a better candidate.

I'm without outrage with Bernie as the nominee. I prefer to not be outraged.

Maybe I'm "naive" and "uninformed" in my support of him, but the bottom line is that I support Bernie Sanders.

The foundation also wanted either Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen or French economist Thomas Piketty to deliver a presentation on income inequality, but both declined.

I couldn't understand why people were OBSESSING about this, but contrast his invitation with this, and yes, in our dumb political season, unfortunately this makes sense now. Ugh.

I'm glad I missed out on the Clinton campaign freak out over this.

Jealously turned to rage, all because Bernie was invited to a conference.

No wonder they're so desperate to lie and smear not just Bernie but everyone involved - some have even started red baiting in order to dismiss this as a gathering of socialists.

Hillary will be at a star studded gala hosted by George Clooney hoovering up bundles of campaign cash while Bernie is at the Vatican discussing income inequality.

The optics of it all are rather unfortunate.
