David Axelrod was a columnist for the Chicago Tribune. During the Democratic primary he worked for the Obama senate campaign and pressured the Tribune and the Sun-Times to get the court to unseal Blair Hull's divorce papers. Those had damaging material and Obama won the primary/In the General Axelrod did the same thing against Ryan and Ryan was forced from the race. Anyone involved in politics who lived in Chicago during this period knows this.

Romney.

Old news.

Basically everyone has marital problems at some point.

They were able to work them out and still be happily married 12 years later.

Even many people not voting for Obama will sympathize with working out marital problems.

The same people will be disgusted at Trump's dirty pool.

Trump is a known womanizer.

Trump is closely tied to Romney.

I think this could gain Obama some women voters.

...Seven years ago, (Liz) Smith broke the news of the Donald-Ivana battle—a knock-down-drag-out that outdid anything on Dynasty. (Who can forget Ivana's "You bitch, leave my husband alone!" suggestion to then-mistress Marla in Aspen?) Ivana took away from her 13-year marriage $25 million and a motto: Don't get mad, get everything. But so far nasty breakups don't seem to be a desirable option for Maples, a former Miss Hawaiian Tropic who has always seemed more interested in spiritual cleansing than social climbing. She and Trump jointly announced the final chapter of their glittery but not-quite fairy-tale romance on May 2. The date is several months shy of a milestone in their prenuptial agreement that would have upped Marla's divorce settlement from $1 to $5 million to an undisclosed but presumably healthy percentage of Trump's fortune, estimated at $2.5 billion. "For the sake of our family," reads their press release, "we ask that the members of the media...move on to coverage of more important issues."

(...)

Trump was secretly romancing Maples as he found ways to temporarily ditch Ivana and their kids, Donny, now 19, Ivanka, 15, and Eric, 13.

(...)

Though he swears he's remained faithful, Trump has told people that one of his "major challenges" in life is handling approaches from women. "If you get hit on a hundred times, it's tough to go home to Marla and say, 'Hi. How you doing?'" says one pal.

Whereas the headline refers to Michelle

If Trump's surprise is divorce papers involving the President, this is indeed bizarre, stupid, and irrelevant. Regardless, the birther set has been trying for some time to prove that at some point prior to marrying Michelle he was married to someone else. And is now hiding it from all of us. (As though it were anyone else's business? And as though no one else in America found happiness in a second marriage?)

http://wonkette.com/479134/dear-barack-wnd-has-exposed-our-secret-marriage-and-i-can-no-longer-stay-silent

http://www.wnd.com/2012/07/was-barack-obama-married-in-college/

I don't have any reason to believe he was married previously, nor do I have any reason to care.

BUT it wouldn't surprise me if Trump is trying to produce documents in some way related to the rumor. Surely even Trump would recognize how self-destructive it would be to cough up unfiled divorce papers between Barack and Michelle? Plus, if that's what was going on, he no longer gets to surprise anyone tomorrow.

As the republicans are hoping for. The story seems to be that Michelle was afraid that barack risked his career and thus his family's finicial security on abrisky congressional race and that is why she thought about it. So the man took a career risk, it didnt work, and his wife was concerned for a brief amount of time before they worked things out. This is the romney campaigns ace in the hole? Pathetic

any response to it from Dems should treat it as if it came from the Romney campaign, which Trump is basically a part of.
There's no doubt Willard is in on this and approves.
Trump endorsed Romney, Roney flew to Vegas to accept it and kiss his ass, he was asked to appear at the RNC, he fundraises for Mitt, and Romney brags about the 'wise counsel' he receives from Trump.
