On CNN just now, Robbie Mook, HRC campaign manager...

They asked him wouldn't he prefer big crowds like Bernie got last night....he said it wasn't as big as Bernie campaign said. He also said Hillary prefers small crowds.

They asked him about visit to Vatican, and he said that was up to the campaign, but Hillary was concentrating on New York. Of course they allowed him to get away with that. No question about her CA fundraiser.

They mentioned the "corporate whore" statement...Mook said he was glad Bernie FINALLY apologized for it.

It was disgusting.

If you think this nastiness and condescension makes Bernie and his supporters look good, you're wrong.

But go on. Be even nastier. Be my guest. The more you insult and mock Hillary supporters, the more you refuse to address the comments people make, the more you make it clear that you don't, in fact, have answers.

The bottom line is that women are not a priority in Bernie's campaign. A large portion of Bernie supporters are woman-haters, which is why women are increasingly turning toward Hillary.

"World events"?

The internet and media pundit universe is flaming around overnight about the use of the term 'corporate whore' (by someone who is not even running for president) and you are equating that with Bernie's ability to deal with 'world events'?

I wonder if anyone will study the archives of DU someday to see how completely bankrupt the political discourse was in the primary 2016 season.

Where is your outrage over issues of people dying and suffering under our current system while you cling to the status quo?

I simply disagreed with your idea that this was akin to a major overnight 'world event'. And thought it was a prime example of how off-the-rails the convo here has gotten.

I do not think it is a problem that Bernie didn't 'deal with it' until this morning. The guy who said it apologized last night. This morning Bernie made it clear that such language is not okay in his campaign. In a sane world, that would be the end of the story in this context.

Sexism is a serious issue, and the use of the word whore in any context is arguably inappropriate. As a woman I think serious conversations do need to be had about the use of such words to dismiss people, especially women, in politics or anywhere else. Word choice matters. I would prefer specific and precise language to inflammatory language. However, no serious, intellectually honest conversation is being had here in GDP about that. All there is is opportunistic, partisan mud-slinging. So don't front about that, because I'm not playing.
