Why won't Hillary commit to support a carbon tax?

As with her claim to support the "Fight for $15" tonight, Hillary really wants political credit for agreeing with Sanders, but I find her answers so agonizingly cagey.

Anyone know why she won't just come out and say she supports it? Does she *not* support it, or is she still making up her mind?

that is subject to Social Security tax or universal healthcare. She has no intention of doing any of that, but kind of pretends that those are all OK ideas and if somebody else wants to push them and put a bill on her desk as President she wouldn't necessarily veto it. Yeah, she and Senator Sanders are in vigorous agreement on all that good stuff, but as her Republican father said, if something is too good to be true, you better read the fine print. Or something like that.

She is telling everybody as directly as she can say anything that as President she will hit a few hot button social issues that poll test well, but do virtually nothing substantive other than maintain the status quo and make sure we always have a few wars going on.
