The reason for this, at least as I see it, is that in order for Romney to maintain the momentum from the bounce he absolutely had to do one thing. He had to prove to the independents that despite the turn around we are seeing in the economy and other areas, it would be worth risking that improvement on trying something new. I think he failed to do that. He has to many unknowns still.
