I came hoping for Warren. I used to hear Bernie on Air America back in the day and liked what he said but didn't follow him as he seemed to be happy with being a senator.

I was not excited at all about this election and frankly thought we were all screwed from Climate change to income inequality. And if h wins the nom, we are screwed on everything and I will probably never vote for another democrat (or even a republican) again in my lifetime. Because voting for either will not turn this country around. At all.

I will vote on issues, it just is that I won't really believe anything can be done. But I am pretty much done to giving our side a pass because we aren't as monstrous as the other side. We are still monstrous.

the clintons 2014 taxes show $5,159,242. in itemized deductions so nearly 100 times as much but i do want bernie to release the itemized page just to shut them up

also in clinton's taxes they show misc expenses nearly as high as bernie's itemized stuff in one llc, 34 grand sticks in my mind...so it is not like we have transparency with the clinton's returns , even tho they have been made public

there should be a schedule c as they do report around 4 grand in business income

it does have the itemized list page and the schedule c stuff but the state taxes i saw earlier on the ops link are not there

so unless i was imagining things earlier..lol...these are 2 different pdfs

i am guessing what bernie meant last night is...tomorrow we will provide the "missing" pages from 2014, which has been one of the hc campaign complaints ...that 2014 wasn't complete

they did list over 8 grand to charity and not by giving it to themselves (as the clintons do)

i still can not get past the clinton's misc expense for one llc pass thru being over 34 grand...if i tried a tenth of that number as misc expense i would be audited so fast my head would spin

This is my first post on this board, so I apologize in advance if I come across as rude. I hope you won't be offended.

I think we should all be a bit careful about claiming that Bernie Sanders evaded taxes or used loopholes to avoid paying taxes. If we take into account the fact that he probably itemized state taxes, property taxes and possibly mortgage payments, those alone would account for at least 20 or 25,000 dollars. Maybe more but I can only guess.

126. Let us try to estimate
Fri Apr 15, 2016, 06:42 PM
Apr 2016

While you have a point that he has not released the details, I am curious about what people here estimate his deductions to be. An online site says his home value is 321,900.

http://www.realtor.com/news/trends/presidential-candidates-home-value-price/

There should be a way to estimate his taxes based on that value. That link also says the home value has fallen and was over 400,000 dollars in 2009. So his mortgage is probably based on the higher value.

State income taxes on 205,000 dollars should be in the range of 12 or 13,000 dollars. His property tax is probably around 10,000 dollars. His mortgage interest payments should also be factored in. What do you think is a reasonable estimate for this?

I think we should try to come up with a reasonable estimate and not focus on the entire 56K of deductions. Otherwise we would be harming the reputation of an honest man.
