I wonder why they just didn't encourage their voters to vote early? If early voting is here to stay, why not try to get a good ground game set up to take advantage of it. Only in CO have Repubs managed to get good numbers in early voting so far.

I recall being able to vote straight party,either way,in Illinois,til 'Clinton won his first term....I voted that way,then,myself,and it seems,at least state wide,a bunch of Dems swept into office...

As I remember,the lame duck Illinois shit sticks,were so outraged by this unfairness,one of their last acts was to do away with that ability...

This will be my first time voting in Illinois,since returning from a 7 year stay in western Colorado,so I really don't know if it's still that way or not.....

What I found in subsequent elections,before moving back out west,was that it was hella more enjoyable voting for each DEM,singlely...

7. You can vote early in Illinois...I just voted this morning with my daughter

You can vote early at ANY of the designated early voting stations (does not have to be your home precinct). But you do need a gov issued photo ID for early voting (that's the trade-off for "any station" voting). Look up the early voting places near you on the Illinois election web site.

I'm going to wait til the 6th,although I did just get my Illinois drivers license,and registered to vote,about a month ago......Like a week before the deadline....I really,REALLY want to be confronted by those screw the vote jerkwads,and figure there may be a better chance of that on THE day....

Especially after what happened in 2004 in Ohio, early voting really helped things go smoothly in 2008.

This pissed off the GOP and now people like Husted would like to go back to the days of chaos. Republicans hate elections that go smoothly. They want chaos on election day in order to disenfranchise as many voters as possible, especially densely populated areas that tend to vote Democratic.

10. What I don't understand is why they allowed early voting in the first place

Most of these early voting states, like Ohio, are completely controlled by Republicans who, as we know, historically have tried to suppress the vote, especially in urban areas.

So why did these boobs allow early voting to start in the first place? Are they so stupid that they didn't see what was coming?
