Sent Country Billions
Hillary Rodham Clintons brother, Tony Rodham, sat on the board of a self-described mining company that in 2012 received one of only two gold exploitation permits from the Haitian governmentthe first issued in over 50 years.
The tiny North Carolina company, VCS Mining, also included on its board Bill Clintons co-chair of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC), former Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive.
The Rodham gold mine revelation is just one of dozens featured in a forthcoming bombshell investigative book by three-time New York Times bestselling author Peter Schweizer, according to a Thursday statement from publishing giant HarperCollins. The publisher says the book, Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich, is the culmination of an exhaustive one-year deep dive investigation into the nexus between the Clintons $100+ million personal wealth, the Clinton Foundation, and the decisions Hillary made as Secretary of State that benefited foreign donors, governments, and companies.

(3,017 posts)<Tony, meanwhile, landed a job as a field organizer with the Democratic National Committee and married Sen. Barbara Boxer's daughter, Nicole. But he soon struck out on his own, launching a consulting firm. In 1997, he traveled with three business partners to Cambodia, where he met with newly installed dictator Hun Sen to discuss possible investments in the country. Hun Sen, who had come to power in a bloody coup, was gearing up for the upcoming election by intimidating his political opponents, and the US government had taken a hands-off approach to the regime. Rodham suggested that his visit might help the peace process and open up the nation to American business. "We came to see what fits here in Cambodia, and there are many fits," he told reportersspeaking at a hotel, the Associated Press dryly noted, that was owned by a Cambodian businessman banned from doing business in the United States because of his alleged involvement in the drug trade.
A few years later, another embarrassing foreign adventure landed the Rodham brothers in the news. In 1999, Hugh and Tony entered into a $118 million joint venture to grow and export hazelnuts with Aslan Abashidze, a strongman in a semiautonomous region of the Republic of Georgia (who had allegedly murdered one of his top deputies in the early 1990s). Abashidze and the Rodhams weren't just partnersTony Rodham agreed to become the godfather to Abashidze's grandsons. Abashidze interpreted his deal with the brothers as a de facto endorsement by the president himself, and he told reporters that the American branch of the hazelnut-importing business would be located "next to the White House." This was news to the Clinton White House, which was allied with Abashidze's rival, Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze. Ultimately, the Rodhams called off the deal because of the controversy. Abashidze would later flee to Russia shortly before a Georgian court sentenced him to 15 years in prison for embezzlement.
The Rodhams continued to trade on their family connection. In 2000, Tony Rodham successfully lobbied President Clinton to pardon a Tennessee couple convicted of bank fraud, over the objections of the Justice Department. Tony insisted that he took up the couple's cause pro bono. But congressional investigators later found the couple had paid him a $244,769 salary as a consultant. And Hugh Rodham was paid $434,000 to lobbysuccessfullyfor pardons for a cocaine trafficker and a fraudster who peddled an anti-baldness treatment. (He later gave the money back.)>

The misery, destruction, and death these 2 families have

(45,251 posts)love lobbyists, it's actionable corruption only if you can prove a specific quid pro quo.
Was the permit for her brother promised to her if she agreed to take a specific action that she was not going to take anyway? Did she then agree to take that action? Very high standard, but it's the standards our public "servants" set for themselves.

That was her response to comments about her brother is considered sexist.

(786 posts)important because I don't like ALL of the things that she has done while in office. There is just too much to overlook. This is just ANOTHER thing to have to try to swallow. It is totally disgusting. The President of the United States shouldn't be this bad. To say that ALL OF THIS is not true is naive. She is CERTAINLY NOT FOR THE PEOPLE she is a wolf in Sheeps clothing.
We will get scraps and some "monumental" looking things that really don't mean anything.
Bill Clinton was going to privatise Social Security. Do you know what that means? That means if we hit another big recession, we don't even have the small amount for essentials that Social Security would provide. Why you say? Because privatising would put us at the mercy of Wall Street and that in turn would make us need Wall Street need to stay healthy. Mission Accomplished.
Have you ever heard the term"conquer and divide"? That is what a vote for Clinton will do right now. They worked their professional life to make a lot of money and to have a lot of power. They are friends with the powers that want to keep us repressed. People that vote for the Clintons are voting against themselves......unless they are extremely wealthy.

(3,133 posts)HILLARY CLINTON INTERVENED FOR A ST. PETERSBURG FIRM AFTER REQUEST TO SON-IN-LAW

Investors in Neptune Mining had asked Mezvinsky for help setting up a meeting with Clinton or other State Department officials, AP reports. [Associated Press]
WASHINGTON As secretary of state, Hillary Clinton intervened in a request forwarded by her son-in-law on behalf of a deep-sea mining firm to meet with her or other State Department officials, according to the recently released Clinton emails.
One of the firm's investors had asked Clinton's son-in-law, Marc Mezvinsky, who is married to Chelsea Clinton, for help setting up such contacts, the emails show.
The lobbying effort on behalf of Neptune Minerals Inc. came while Hillary Clinton now the leading Democratic presidential candidate was advocating for an Obama administration push for Senate approval of a sweeping Law of the Sea Treaty. The pact would have aided U.S. mining companies scouring for minerals in international waters, but the Republican-dominated Senate blocked it.
Clinton ordered a senior State Department official in August 2012 to look into the request. Her action came three months after an investor in the mining firm emailed Mezvinsky, a partner in Eaglevale Partners LP, a New York hedge fund, asking for his help in setting up State Department contacts.
Clinton relayed a copy of the investor's email to Thomas Nides, then a deputy secretary of state and now vice chairman at Morgan Stanley, a major New York financial services firm. "Could you have someone follow up on this request, which was forwarded to me?" Clinton asked Nides. He replied: "I'll get on it."
