CNN's coverage has been horribly biased

I was watching Erin Burnett OutFront last night, and she trashes the president's 20 page plan and takes what he said in the debate completely out of context, all with a smug look on her face. I used to think CNN was fair, but after hearing them call the THIRD debate a tie after Obama won the CBS poll of undecideds by 30 points was disgusting. He won the CBS poll by double digits in debate 2 as well, and they also called that one a tie.

And their coverage on so-called "Benghazi-gate" (what a joke) has been horrible.

CNN used to be honest. They called them as they saw them. Then, the right-wing noise machine got to them and they decided to be "fair and balanced". Not Faux News supposed fair and balanced, but basically finding fault with BOTH sides of the aisle and basically saying, well, a pox on both the Democrats and the Republicans.

Lately, however, they seem to be turning into Fox News's evil sibling. They have all these obnoxious commentators like Dana Loesch (who excuse Akin's legitimate rape comments), Ari Fleischer (who lies off his ass every night), and Erick Erickson (who I want to punch in the face every time I see him on tv). The liberal guys they get to counter these guys are jokes. It reminds me of Hannity & Colmes. Stupid but loud conservative, vs smart but weak-kneed and kowtowing liberal.

Oct 2012

I am not trying to be a trouble maker here, I am just looking for meaningful discourse. Having said that, I was pleased with CNN's coverage of the 2012 election today. In fact, I was tickled to death. I had a blast watching Obama vote early via touch screen in his hometown; live. I hit my "last channel" button and pointed my TV toward MSNBC as the fun began. I had been stuck on CNN all day for whatever reason, but this seemed like something that I should experience with my quasi-family at MSNBC. Alas, they were in a commercial break as the President was voting and I congratulated myself on having opted for CNN today. I usually flip between CNN MSNBC FOX and CSPAN so that I can honestly tell myself that I am being media literate. I flip at a feverish pace that angers my girlfriend; this feverish pace has made it impossible for me to know the CNN crew by name. I did, however notice that they had a dark haired woman that was outwardly liberal today. She was, indeed, offset by some curiously conservative guests, for sure. Nevertheless, she did not seem discouraged. I would, of course, recognize Ari Fleischer anywhere and I shared your pain at the sight of him, but I thought that it all ended up in a wash at the end of the day. I must say that I was even impressed with the tall beautiful blonde woman on Fox News this morning. The one that comes on before the dude who looks like a frog? She shut down some weirdo as he tried to suggest that President Obama let these people die in Libya. In no uncertain terms she told this guy that he was full of shit.

34. Their ratings have been tanking over the last few years.
Fri Oct 26, 2012, 03:23 AM
Oct 2012

They are trying desperately to find an audience. It would appear that when they look at the ratings they find the ratings for Fox News most appealing and they hope they can take a slice of it. I think it is blatant. They used to be right down the middle calling balls and strikes on both sides. This election cycle they have pandered to Romney and the right so hard it is insane! They called the first debate for Romney without a moments hesitation. Every debate after that they have tried to call a tie. They had to concede on the last debate because the poll numbers made them look like idiots. Even their own poll said Obama won that debate! Ever since the first debate it has been nothing but story after story about Romney's so-called "momentum" even though the polls have been stagnant ever since the VP debate or even moving a little bit in favor of President Obama.

I notice the stupid changes they have been making on their website as well. It used to be that if they put any "fun news" or news related to pop culture on the website people would pop into the comments and mock them for considering the article news. The comments would say that CNN was trying to distract from the real news that is the disaster of the Obama presidency or that they were just wasting people's time with those articles. Those people don't have to click those articles! It is a news organization. They can and should do news on many different subjects! Well CNN apparently decided they had to pander to these idiots and acknowledge their idiotic conspiracy theories. Now they preface these articles with "Distraction: " or "This is supposed to be news: ". Give me a fucking break! Don't pander to those morons! These are the people that think every news organization except Fox News has an extreme liberal bias. They are the same people that think Drudge Report is nothing but links to news articles (this line is exactly the same from every person that looks at that site... they are deluded.)

Erin Burnett is terrible. Cenk was on her case almost instantly when she started over there. I wasn't sure if he might have been a little overboard with his criticism of her but after watching her show a few times recently I feel like she would be right at home at Fox News. Keep in mind that CNN was the original home of Glenn Beck. I remember telling people while he was at CNN that they should be watching out for that guy because he was nuts. CNN was also home for Lou Dobbs for a long long time. CNN does have one person that I enjoy watching and that is Don Lemon. I guess you can find a good one in the bunch no matter where you look because I also like Shep Smith who is on Fox News. Too bad I can't stand to give them ratings long enough to watch him for any length of time.

Erin just not reporting the facts. I 'm pretty sure most of CNN's audience leans left and she seems to bash Obama more which is not smart if most of your audience tends to support him. Her ratings are lower than John King USA's ratings were, which is the show she replaced. I think CNN thought if we put a cute female anchor on one of our shows we might duplicate some of Fox's success.
