If DU isn't a microcosm, and is "nothing like real life"

Last edited Thu Apr 21, 2016, 08:00 PM - Edit history (1)

doesn't that go for the opinions, attitudes, and behaviors of DU's Clinton supporters too? A recent meme among Hillary supporters is that DU's Bernie peeps are not representative of his supporters in general. Interesting you now say this after a whole primary season of calling us all BernieBros and worse. I guess you smell victory and want to start playing the pied piper unity tune. Just remember, if our opinions can be dismissed as the kind of crap that only happens here, yours can too.

We're all here because we're political junkies. Most people happily enjoy Pinterest, Facebook, ravelry, etc.

They're not thinking politics 24/7. They don't turn to DU when something happens in the world.

If this is the first place you went after Prince died, you are a political junkie

That when we log out and head to work, it's not 90% Sanders supporters we are surrounded by. And yes, message boards attract people not happy with the current state of our government. That means more diverse opinions on politics than with friends or at the workplace. That is the difference here.

I'm glad to say I haven't encountered the kind of Hillary supporters we have here in real life either.
