Bernie looked demoralized on MTP this morning ...

... bitter, disillusioned, and pointing fingers of blame.

I think he senses the curtain is coming down on his campaign.

I'd feel bad for him if he hadn't gone so negative and become so loose with the truth recently.

after poll since the summer of 2015 comparing Sanders and Clinton to the Republican
presidential candidates, always show Sanders way ahead of her.

The only reasons for Clinton being ahead of Sanders in the Democratic Primaries
are the bias of the DNC for her, and the irregularities that have been going on at the
elections. A law-suit against the BOE in New York is going on right now.

Indies are not monolithic and come in all political stripes — some more conservative, some moderate and some left-leaning.

Hillary will get many of the left-leaning and moderate independents, plus the huge Obama coalition of African Americans, Latino Americans, Asian Americans, women, gays, progressive whites who are not die-hard Sanders suppoters vowing to write-in, vote Green or stay home, and Native Americans, all who elected Obama in '08 and '12.

These demographic segments outnumber Trump supporters who are mostly white. 2012 showed that. You can't rely only on the white vote, including conservative independents and those angry white men who show at Trump rallies, to win a national election anymore. Those days are long gone. Romney won a huge majority of whites in 2012 and lost handily.

So that's the funny thing about the general election — it reflects reality and the reality is that the country is browning as we speak (2012 marked the first year minority births outnumbered white births), and the tattered repug party — after they try to steal the nomination from Trump — won't be able to elect trump or Cruz for dog catcher in November, much less president.

The “Bernie Bros” Narrative: a Cheap Campaign Tactic Masquerading as Journalism and Social Activism

Glenn Greenwald
Jan. 31 2016, 5:42 a.m.

The concoction of the “Bernie Bro” narrative by pro-Clinton journalists has been a potent political tactic — and a journalistic disgrace. It’s intended to imply two equally false claims: (1) a refusal to march enthusiastically behind the Wall Street-enriched, multiple-war-advocating, despot-embracing Hillary Clinton is explainable not by ideology or political conviction, but largely if not exclusively by sexism: demonstrated by the fact that men, not women, support Sanders (his supporters are “bros”); and (2) Sanders supporters are uniquely abusive and misogynistic in their online behavior. Needless to say, a crucial tactical prong of this innuendo is that any attempt to refute it is itself proof of insensitivity to sexism if not sexism itself (as the accusatory reactions to this article will instantly illustrate).

It’s become such an all-purpose, handy pro-Clinton smear that even consummate, actual “bros” for whom the term was originally coined — straight guys who act with entitlement and aggression, such as Paul Krugman — are now reflexively (and unironically) applying it to anyone who speaks ill of Hillary Clinton, even when they know nothing else about the people they’re smearing, including their gender, age, or sexual orientation. Thus, a male policy analyst who criticized Sanders’ health care plan “is getting the Bernie Bro treatment,” sneered Krugman. Unfortunately for the New York Times Bro, that analyst, Charles Gaba, said in response that he’s “really not comfortable with [Krugman’s] referring to die-hard Bernie Sanders supporters as ‘Bernie Bros'” because it “implies that only college-age men support Sen. Sanders, which obviously isn’t the case.”

But truth doesn’t matter here — at all. Instead, the goal is to inherently delegitimize all critics of Hillary Clinton by accusing them of, or at least associating them with, sexism, thus distracting attention away from Clinton’s policy views, funding, and political history and directing it toward the online behavior of anonymous, random, isolated people on the internet claiming to be Sanders supporters. It’s an effective weapon when wielded by Clinton operatives. But, given its blatant falsity, it has zero place in anything purporting to be “journalism.”

You're paid to be pro-HRC so why don't you know this already?

BUSTED: Pro-Clinton Super PAC Caught Spending $1 Million on Social Media Trolls

A Super PAC headed by a longtime Clinton operative is spending $1 million to hire online trolls to “correct” Bernie Sanders’ supporters on social media.

In a Reddit comments thread about CTR’s new project, Reddit user and Sanders supporter /u/workythehand, gave other commenters advice on how to identify and engage with one of David Brock’s paid commenters:
The best tactic to use against “professionals” is to simply downvote and move on. The more you argue with them, the more likely people will read the astroturfer’s posts.

Keep your eyes out for very young accounts, repetition of phrasing and syntax (the same “Sanders only diagnoses the problem…” talking points, for instance) in every post, and rapid fire posting – 10+ comments in the span of a few minutes is a good indicator.

Libby Watson of the Sunlight Foundation told the Daily Beast on Thursday that FEC loopholes allow the Hillary Clinton campaign and David Brock’s Super PAC to coordinate with one another, despite the Citizens United vs. FEC Supreme Court decision prohibiting a Super PAC’s independent expenditures from going directly toward a particular candidate.

“It’s not totally clear what [CTR’s] reasoning is, but it seems to be that material posted on the internet for free—like, blogs—doesn’t count as an ‘independent expenditure,’” Watson said. She continued by addressing the unprecedented nature of the project.

She concluded with a damning assessment: “Campaign finance lawyers are not that impressed with [CTR’s] logic, but they can get away with it because the [Federal Election Commission] is deadlocked and does nothing.”

Watson also made note of the unprecedented and bizarre nature of the program, saying, “Usually places like MMFA and CTR are defending her against the media and established figures. This seems to be going after essentially random individuals online,” she said. “I don’t know that they’ve done anything like this before.”

Mon Apr 25, 2016, 12:24 AM
Apr 2016

[link:|

Hillary Clinton has always had a rocky relationship with the press, thanks in part to dealing with conservative smear artists like the young Brock. Correct the Record reflects her prickly approach to media relations. The group spent much of the early summer sending out press releases touting the sales of Clinton's book and tweeting about stories that questioned the numbers. When New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd wrote a column about the lavish speaking fees commanded by Hillary and daughter Chelsea, Correct fired back with a dossier on Dowd, highlighting her own speaking fees.

But this strategy could backfire. Hillary has always struggled with the perception that she is inauthentic and quick to become defensive; being shielded by a group that pounces on every slight could reinforce that image.

Many of them don't look like they're rolling in money. Just for the heck of it, I'm going to ask people if they consider themselves "poor" and, if so, whether or not they vote. I'm betting most will not be voters. People who are poor can't take time off work to vote. They don't have money for child care so they can go vote. Many assume that since nothing much has been done for poor people in the past 50+ years, the chances are slim anything will be done now, so why bother? What Bernie said isn't untrue. If you look at the population of this country and the number who bother to vote, it's rather shameful. I assume there are poor people in that number.

I'm not into fake 'political correctness' if that's what you mean ... using terms like 'loose with the truth' instead of 'lies' which is what you meant, when talking about a statement Bernie made in the middle of the campaign when he had clear momentum .... and pretending that was the same thing as Hillary lying (yes, I said it, LYING, no fake bullshit playing 'loose' with the meaning of words) about sniper fire.

If 'loose with the truth' is not the same as a 'lie' to you, then your candidate, Hillary Clinton, did not 'play loose with the truth', she fucking well LIED.

Now, either accuse Bernie of lying or at the very least admit that Hillary is a LIAR. That is if you have a ounce of integrity left after going all in for your war mongering profiteer candidate.

Bernie looked and sounded good. Said he was staying in it to California. That is exactly what I wanted to hear. He does not seem demoralized to me, seems just like the Bernie we have been seeing. Passionate about the issues, answered all questions directly and honestly. He was asked if Hillary became the nominee, whether he endorsed her depended on which issues she agreed to incorporate into her platform (that is a paraphrase). He has several which are very important to him and his campaign. He also said he could not tell others what to do (which I assumed he was referring to his supporters).

Bernie Sanders Campaign: We Don't Pay For Comments, Thank You
After a PAC working with Hillary Clinton's campaign pledged $1 million to "correct" her critics on Facebook and Reddit, the Sanders campaign shut down persistent rumors that their side did the same.

“Our campaign and our vendors are not paying people to reply to anti-Bernie comments on social media,” said Sanders campaign rapid response director Mike Casca. “Come on man, really?”

After news of Correct the Record’s “Barrier Breakers” comments section initiative was announced yesterday, many commenters on Reddit and Twitter responded by saying Sanders’ campaign had done the same thing, citing a $16 million creative spend with the marketing company “Revolution Messaging.”

Several reference a single New Hampshire Public Radio story from February 8th.

The New Hampshire Public Radio story never mentions Sanders surrogates using comments sections to correct voters.

A Sanders campaign official told The Daily Beast that the money paid to Revolution Messaging was spent on “online ads, email fundraising, web development, graphic design, photography and videography.”

Unfounded rumors about Revolution Marketing’s role in the Sanders campaign found their way into The Washington Post on April 7th.

This claim about Revolution Messaging was untrue, and the Post later removed the quote and added a correction that reads, “Editor’s note: This story has been edited to remove an inaccurate reference to a vendor for the Sanders presidential campaign.”

Due to an FEC loophole, Correct the Record has claimed since last year it is able to communicate directly with the Clinton campaign.

“Going forward, Correct the Record will work in support of Hillary Clinton’s candidacy for president, aggressively responding to false attacks and misstatements of the secretary’s exemplary record,” Correct the Record founder David Brock told The New York Times in May of 2015.

Mon Apr 25, 2016, 12:39 AM
Apr 2016

Yet the path to the Democratic nomination has all but vanished after his 16-point loss in New York last week. Now, with national polls showing him roughly even with the former secretary of state and with $17 million in his pocket as of the beginning of April, Sanders is faced with a series of tricky questions about his place in the race over the next two months — the first of which is how, exactly, to articulate his remaining route to victory.

He hasn’t yet figured out how to answer them.
