When do we get to the point where Sanders insisting he can win so his supporters continue to send him money become a corrupt act?

(80,708 posts)I'm taking the question out to a romantic candlelight dinner, then perhaps a languid walk on a sunset-dappled beach, where we will be serenaded by a group of ukulele-strumming musicians, then the question and I will retire to my quaint beachside bungalow for 7 hours of slow, intense, meaningful lovemaking.

(9,385 posts)Until there is a voted upon designated nominee, it is possible. And even then, in this election cycle it's still entirely possible that the designated nominee could have to drop out. So you on that side don't have the slightest idea whether Sanders can win, and it's high time YOU stop pretending you do.
If anyone doesn't believe Bernie, they are free to stop donating to him any time. You actually have no "standing" to say anything whatsoever about the money he raises. And that's the thing that really pisses HRC and her supporters off the most -- that Bernie can out fundraise her!
This stuff is such nonsense.

(5,648 posts)If his many of his biggest donors have already reached their contribution limits ($2,500) and he is still averaging only $27 per donation, for those who are only giving a few dollars at a time we are not talking about folks who can afford for a lot of their money to be dropped down a rat hole.
After today the only honest thing for Sanders to do is to make it clear to his contributors that his chances of winning are few. Then if they want to continue to contribute, more power to them.

(24,853 posts)How quaint.
CajunBlazer
(5,648 posts)...be told the truth about his chances of winning. If he is honest with everyone about his situation and they still want to contribute, well more power to them.

(10,437 posts)Continue to as long as money keeps rolling in...until his ego can allow him...he be doing it for a while longer...but it does become a ethical issues when its a clear conning of money from those who can't afford it...that time is a few weeks away....then we have a real test on whether or not Bernie has a moral center...

(4,835 posts)I'd want to know where he's going to take his grandkids next. They got to watch grandpa Bernie wait in the hall to shake the pope's hand on campaign funds.
Maybe they'll all go to the North Pole and watch him meet Santy Clause.
