Even with a pay to play scheme on "Hardball", his wife finished 3rd in her Democratic Primary race, which featured the biggest spending of any House race in this election cycle so far.

It's not as though those Senators are so desperate for media coverage that they'd have to pay for it.

Also, there was a reason that race was the biggest spending in history, and it wasn't because of Matthews.
