(11,243 posts)Looong lines to the Ladies, especially. When you finally get in the stall, there is spatter, all the TP will be gone and someone pissed all over the seat too.
Petrushka
(3,709 posts). . . weeps because she can't hold it any longer, squats down, and shits on the floor while everyone turns away, pretending not to see what's happening, holding their noses or retching.
That actually happened at a festival in Appalachia my sister-in-law & I attended years ago. We left without using the restroom, thinking it better to just pee in the weeds behind a Rhododendron. I wonder how many weeds, bushes or high grass is available in Philadelphia.

(17,195 posts)A REAL Philly Cheesesteak HAS to be made with Cheez Whiz or something like that.
As I understand it, this goes back to the original recipe, as developed by Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, in their wilder days. (Cheez Whiz was a lot harder to get in 1774, which is why it's considered a specialty, even today.)

You can get a cheesesteak with provolone, American or Whiz, most seem to prefer Whiz (I like American myself).

We probably wouldn't demonstrate so much as laugh and sing and celebrate being the soul of the Democratic Party.
Hillary is the last of the oligarchs running the Party. And that is something to celebrate with lots of people, music and fun.

A reminder that Chicago was exacerbated by the fact the Humphrey never ran in a single Primary.
JDPriestly
(57,936 posts)We would not demonstrate. We would celebrate the rebirth of the Democratic Party, a new focus on "we" and a surge of young voters away from the terrible dominance of corporate money in our Party.
Hillary is the last gasp of the oligarchs that have been running the Democratic Party for a generation and a half.
Bernie and those of us who support him are the future of the Democratic Party no matter what the outcome is of this 2016 election.
I have been working with Bernie volunteers in Los Angeles recently. It's a new day. I've worked on a lot of campaigns. Never seen one this organized, with the solid values of this one. Never seen one in which every single volunteer can explain the issues and where the candidate stands on each issue to the extent I see it in this one.
I remember my frustration watching young volunteers stumble and stutter when asked about Kerry's stances on the issues in 2004.
Not so this year. Every Bernie supporter I have met in the campaign thus far can clearly explain to you where Bernie stands on maybe not all but a very significant number of the issues. I am overwhelmed by this development.
This is the political revolution that Bernie is talking about. It's a huge shift from interest in personalities and gossip to issues.
Feel the Bern! Because the political revolution is here.

I don't think it will reflect well on your message. Even a mob of 1,000,000 shouldn't be allowed to overturn the votes of 12,000,000+.

(587 posts)while the passion of the BS'ers is admirable, when people refuse to accept that they have lost according to a democratic process, and harass super delegates, threaten other voters, threaten the party, become obstructionist, threaten to derail the convention, etc... then at that point they are no longer participating in the electoral process and are instead trying to hijack it for their own ends.
It's just authoritarianism under a different label.
The people who have lost and those that support them need a reality check and to understand that it is perfectly reasonable for other voters to disagree with them and that doesn't mean those other voters are stupid, corrupt, ill-informed, voting against their interests, or whatever else. It just means those other voters disagree and see things differently.
And that is what politics is all about - negotiation, compromise, majorities, taking 2 steps forward for each step back, etc. It seems like the vast majority of Sanders voters, if they had a button in front of them that would just make him the nominee regardless of the vote, would be pressing it furiously.
People just don't WANT him as their nominee or their leader. That's just how it works.

Hotel rooms will be gone and way to expensive for the normal rebel. People running to be delegates to the convention in CA have been told $600/night. Putting that kind of money into local races would make a difference.

After reading thru this thread and seeing all the negative comments, it reaffirms the belief that the reason the country is SO messed up is that too many of us just like to mouth off and NEVER do the work needed to keep democracy alive.
None of us, whether H or Bernie supporters, should ever be so damned negative about real democracy. I'm pretty much ready to puke over some of these comments.
