or even slanted toward Clinton...
How to explain that? What accounts for that?
Do Hillary supporters just post 5 times as much for some reason?

If you do the math on how many people that could pay, it's an awfully small budget for a massive troll brigade.

Because it couldn't be explained by the fact that the primary is essentially over.

(11,256 posts)People who have voted in Democratic primaries have solidly gone in Hillary's direction, and when you isolate the numbers to actual Democrats, it's overwhelming.
Putting aside the questionable numbers, I'm not sure when anyone should be surprised that there's still a lot of Clinton support here.

(4,187 posts)You can't just pull numbers out of the air based on your impressions. You have to actually do an unbiased analysis. You have to count every single post that was published in a given time frame, and categorize each post as pro-Bernie, pro-Hillary, or neutral. And you have to do this with enough posts and over a long enough time period to make sure your sample is statistically significant and representative of the overall trend. Ideally, you wouldn't do the measurement yourself but have an unbiased apolitical party do it to make sure you weren't biasing the results.
Quantitative analysis is hard. It's extremely difficult to remove bias from one's results, even when one is looking at something apparently impersonal like elementary particles. With something like politics, it's even more difficult.

The Glorious Amnesty made this place into Yahoo Comments level ugly. Between the antisemitic posts, the gay baiting and the simply nasty it has become a very negative space, this DU.

(9,287 posts)It probably means that there are an equal number of partisans (people personally or emotionally invested in a certain candidate), and the majority of the sites members aren't as invested or as interested in the primary.
It is highly possible that most of the latter, while they may have a majority preference for a certain candidate in particular, they probably don't want to get bogged down with the nasty infighting between the partisans and might even demand a separate forum for the partisans to duke it out.
That is just my opinion assuming that things are the way you describe, though.
