Big shift to Santorum?? (warning: very speculative)

OK, so.

The Examiner.com website has just started pushing a story about Ron Paul's wife, Carol, and her, "claim" that the GOP is stealing votes from Paul.

http://www.examiner.com/conspiracy-in-denver/carol-paul-election-fraud-confirmed#ixzz1nqkKi5zi

The video itself doesn't seem to back up that claim:

But that's not the point.

The point is that the Examiner is owned by Phil Anshutz who also owns The Weekly Standard and a huge number of hard-right media orgs... All of Phil's media empire has until... yesterday... pushed for Romney...

On top of that Paul himself has never claimed fraud... and Paul has been fairly "pro-Romney".

So what's going on...?

Well, if this push is NOT coming from Paul and not an outlier, two big ifs, if would seem one of Romney's big supporters (and his media outlets?) might be jumping ships to someone else...

And who most benefits from this? Well, best guess would be Santorum... the only other horse with a chance...

Lot's of ifs and speculation, but still... watch this space... If the Weekly Standard suddenly starts printing a lot of pro-Santorum stuff, don't be surprised...

Also, as an aside... if I controlled a pro-Obama super PAC I'd certainly start running ads with some carefully edited Carol Paul footage... and push the claim that the GOP is rigging elections... that only benefits Obama...

But then again... I also like watching the GOP self-destruct... so...

I don't get that as I never once called forthe de-funding of public education

I actually am a Ron Paul 'hater".. But I love the way he is spoiling the primary... Or should I say, is helping to spoil...

And it's a pretty big "unless."

Unless, he's building up a private army of delegates that are going to go against the wishes of the voters. If that really happens, it will certainly be interesting to watch.

I'm staying tuned.

I'm skeptical Romney will have enough delegates to wrap up the nomination before the convention. So, there will be at least, though maybe not at the level we all want, a contested early convention with some backroom deals to get those delegates to pledge to him.

I'm thinking that could be the reason some of the money behind Romney is getting nervous.

It's hilarious that the GOP's main candidate's main attribute is his ability to win.

- Why'd you vote for Romney?
- Because I'm guessing others will.

He is in places he's spending money. His negative ads have really had an impact, especially early on.

Plus the Paul-tards will essentially disenfranchise themselves when Romney/Santorum is chosen.

And, fingers crossed, if Paul were to run as an indie/for a fringe party... Even more vote sucking from the GOP.

Paul is a dangerous ideologue IMO, but his net effect is positive for Obama.

I can guarantee you that no pro-Obama super PAC is going to go after Ron Paul or his wife. Thats rediculous.

You'd have to edit it closely to make it make the point unequivocally.
