2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumTrump to Use Sanders' 'Unqualified' Comment Against Clinton.
Look out for Bernie Sanders to help front-runner Donald Trump compete against Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Not purposely, of course. But the Republican front-runner says that he'll use Sanders' sound bite calling Clinton unqualified later in the campaign. Trump didn't mention that Sanders has since retreated from his own comment and said that Clinton, a lawyer, former senator and onetime secretary of state, is intelligent and experienced.
On "Fox News Sunday," Trump said Sanders' comments back up his own charge that Clinton is only a viable candidate because she's a woman.
He spoke ahead of Tuesday's Indiana primary, with 57 GOP delegates at stake. Trump, Clinton, Sanders and GOP rival Ted Cruz have events in the state Sunday. Clinton also is delivering a speech to the NAACP in Detroit.

Thanks,Bernie.

(23,272 posts)I've got news for you. He's going to use his own personal deals where he "bought" Senator Clinton.
He's going to outline in detail how the Clinton Foundation is a scam with specific details from the sham Haiti relief $$ .
He'll hammer on how she's untrustworthy on handling classified information with her email scandal.
He'll release the most damaging speech transcript.
He'll go on in explicit detail @ Bill Clinton and Jeffrey Epsteins child raping plane rides leading to dredging up Bill's entire sordid history with inappropriate behavior with female subordinates after which Hillary either actively worked to destroy those women or passively stood by as they were destroyed.
Etc etc etc. Senator Bernie Sanders comment on Hillary being "unqualified" will be a tiny blip in the face of what's coming.
Your candidate's tough right? Bernies comment is like water off a duck's back right?
Hope so because the floodgates are yet to be opened against her and everyone will be wishing for the days when "unqualified" was the worst thing ever.

(15,805 posts)If she's confronting Trump's replay of Sander's criticism, then she's missing opportunities to talk about her ideas and plans. The tag team combination of a Democrat and a Republican making the same swipes at Hillary, emboldens both Trump and Sanders fans and encourages them to find more areas on common ground that they hope will chip away at her lead.
beedle
(1,235 posts)then she's a pretty weak candidate. Hillary should step down.
procon
(15,805 posts)Republicans won't hesitate to use the same lines of attacks against Hillary that the Bernie crowd does, reasoning that if one faction of Democrats are rallying around the latest scorcher, they'll pile on and help undercut her, too.

These are just the obvious examples of why she is unqualified. You abandon humane common sense if you support Hillary. I want nothing to do with her or her ilk.

(47,144 posts)"the ends justify the means" and all that. I also find that most people will not forgive past acts unless they are by a close relative, or other close associate. What does make Brock somewhat more unique is that he appears to have been bothered by his past acts enough to admit them.
"Truth is not important, its what you can make people believe" should be the number one slogan in politics, because its practiced by more players than I care to think about. And as soon as a politician or group claims they are the only one with truth better to take a closer look.

(47,144 posts)you are ready for any philosophical self reflection.
timmymoff
(1,947 posts)I would only anger others. My reflection would show me I am correct in describing the immorality of one candidate's positions and methods. I would basically re affirm my already moral higher ground by not supporting a continuance of terrible foreign policy decisions etc. Are you sure you wish for me to do that? Or would you whine I am helping opposition research?
BootinUp
(47,144 posts)The kind of reflection I suggested would be looking for faults and virtues on both sides. Because they are there, that is the only real truth.
timmymoff
(1,947 posts)before we decide that it has gone far enough to the right , you let me know. Is fracking, regime, change, free trade deals, an unwillingness to fight for minimum wage or healthcare, support of keystone then flip flopping, private prison money, big money, lobbyist's money enough to say we need a change and the person who supports all of these won't provide that change? When do we admit the democratic party is to the right of republicans of the 80's? When do we actually look at what we created and reflect? I've done it, and it isn't me who moved them there. I've had enough of it, you apparently accept it.

(9,610 posts)I think her experience as Senator and Secretary of State far outshines his. Not to mention, all the negative things his opponents have said about Trump. Plus, he has put his foot in his mouth a number of times. The Republican Primary voters might accept that, but I doubt most voters would.
