Now that the race for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States is over...

what were the final delegate tallies? I've looked everywhere and cannot for the life of me find the final numbers. Does anyone have those? I would appreciate it. I can usually find whatever I'm looking for on the Internet. I'm normally the King of Search. What I can't find this morning though is the final delegate tally, and I've looked for it every which way.

It bothers me no end that I can't find numbers I KNOW are out there. So help me out someone... what are the final delegate tallies? Surely they exist. I know they exist. The race is over, and Hillary IS the nominee, or so I've been told.

I would add that I once met someone from Missouri, which is the "Show Me" state. For that reason a link to the final delegate tally would be nice.

... and there's 30 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, and you have no time-outs left, and the other team has the ball, and we're on your 10-yard line, and your star defensive player is sidelined with an injury, YOU HAVE LOST THE GAME.

There's no intercepted pass and 100-yard touchdown run that will save Bernie. There's no Hail Mary moment that can save Bernie. There will be no indictment. No contested convention. No brokered convention. No 47% moment.

Those 30 seconds mean nothing to the actual final outcome. "Official" or not ... you've LOST. For all intensive porpoises it's over. OVER!

Hanging all your hopes on the word "yet" will not change the outcome. Bernie's stadium started emptying 15 minutes ago. Half of the people headed to their cards lot to get a head-start on getting out of the parking lot.

Bernie will not be the nominee.

Wow that's a long post just to say in boldface type "Bernie will not be the nominee."

Nerve. Struck.

Practically speaking, the race was over by mid-March. Technically speaking, of course it's not over. Do you see anyone suggesting that the convention has already taken place? Do you see anyone suggesting that Clinton has already reached 2026 pledged delegates? No. You simply see people pointing out that those are inevitable events.

... through all the stages until they reach acceptance. It's common for individuals to exhibit the behavior that represents two stages at the same time. Posts like the OP seem, in my opinion, to be a mixture of denial and bargaining.

Denial of the truth of what the outcome will be ... Bargaining to "let it play out" to the final balloon drop, just in case ... and "maybe there's still a chance".
